Just giving my opinion about the episode:

the episode was good it had me grinning with pleasure from the beginning to the end (actually it was from when Naruto and Kushina started talking).
Liked the Kushina's voice not entirely what I expected though.

And I also see the similarities between Naruto and Sakura (who wouldn't?) and I'm hoping Kishi is hinting at something with it.

I suggest rereading the manga. It is blatantly shown. Your dislike of parallels makes you skim over that.

I don't 'skim' over anything in this manga. I understand that parallels can work if a mangaka wants it to; all I'm saying is that we should wait for a definite proof before claiming that Kishi was using MinaKushi to hint at NaruSaku. Its sort of jumping the gun by saying that he is without actual proof. As in, not a fans interpretation of a scene, like "Oh, isn't this moment almost exactly like one of NaruSaku's? Kishi definitely is using foreshadowing here!", but more like " Naruto thought of Sakura when he remembered Kushina's advice, in chapter xxx, so this looks good for us."

minto and kushina are unique in their own way

but

kishimoto also obviously put hints that sakura and kushina are similar when it comes to viewing naruto and minato.

putting hints down doesnt downplay minato and kushina's relationship it just shows us some foreshadowing

sakura was made before kushina (im sure) so kishi probably thought it would be good to make kushina similar to her.

Hopefully they don't change Kushina's final monologue. I think the official Viz manga volume turned it into something more pairing-neutral. I'm kind of worried they're going to change it to keep fans happy.

Oh well, at least we got the manga right?

Anyways, is the next episode really going to be a special (double-episode)? Man, with what's going on in the manga now, it's been a great few weeks for Naruto fans. Hopefully this keeps up.

you don't really think they can change it do you? I mean, I was always told that the anime team can't touch the Manga right? so... they HAVE to stick with the canon, HOWEVER... they might add filler that makes it more vague... but I'm certain they can't touch the Manga..right!?

It's hard enough debating with people on youtube, if they make it even MORE vague...I don't think I can take it!

Some of you guys say NH fans are in denial for trying to find a parallels with MinaKushi, but you're doing the exact same thing. o.O

I'm a NaruSaku fan too, but as we know, Kishimoto hasn't brought up either girl when this whole flashback thing is over with in the manga. Its alright if you find similarites, but I don't think they should be used as definite evidence that NS will happen. MinaKushi is not a second NaruSaku; they are both two different pairings with separate moments, and, as of now, holds no official link between the other.

JiraTsu would be a better example. Anyways they were just making up stuff that didn't make sense, but I admit I see a bit of Parallel to NH and MK but I'm not telling them what it is. However Personality wise You can't deny MK is parallel to NS. Anyways the extended MinaKushi scene is filler so don't need to go crazy about it

I don't think they will change it, but I don't want to jinx it. I'm not sure how much creative control the anime team is given over canon material. I know they can add additional monologue/dialogue, but I'm not sure if they can actually change existing stuff. I think translations and dubs are able to do that simply due it being carried over from another language, so they can claim they're trying to avoid awkwardness or language barriers. I don't think the actual Japanese anime can/will change it. I could be wrong, though.

Plus I really don't want to jinx it.

Ahh dang. Well, I suppose the majority of the next episode will probably cover the rest of the Kyuubi fight. Unless they're really going to spend the equivalent of two and a half episodes on the flashback. The preview for the next episode showed Tobi appearing during Naruto's birth, so I assume part of the flashback will be next time.

Man, I'm really looking forward to seeing the next couple of scenes animated.

Pierrot, why did I ever doubt you!? I knew you could do it!

The episode was just awesome. The animation, the acting. Everything was more or less perfect. Even the filler was outstanding and for a moment it actually made me question whether it really WAS filler or not.

If it's true that this week is going to be a 1 hour special, then Thursday can't come fast enough!
