I agree, she was obviously trying to trick him. I was just talking from the perspective of someone reading the manga at the time. I recall reading tons of comments after that chapter came out of people assuming Sakura was planning to betray Konoha. If you think about it, it's a much bigger potential twist if the reader thought this was true.
On a side note, I thought it was funny how the comments on the recent episode of the anime, "Sakura's Resolve", seemed to repeat the trend. Fans who don't read the manga were calling Sakura a traitor, commenting on how much she loves Sasuke, etc.
In part, but mainly she's saddened by the fact that he's clearly not a "great guy". Whether or not she still loves him can be debated backwards and forwards, but she herself realizes that her feelings for Sasuke are nothing to be proud of. Like ciardha said, her feelings for Naruto bring her happiness, while her feelings for Sasuke bring her pain.

Yeah, I have to agree with this - it really makes me pity Naruto since even after all he's gone through he's still competing against someone who's not even around anymore for Sakura's heart. It makes it kinda hard to cheer her on when she dotes so much still on an old flame.

Of course this translation're wrong.
Er, not sure if this has been mentioned, but the interview was done by seiyuu from the anime. They made comments/asked questions which Kishi replied to. That's why the translation looks funky, because comments were made and Kishimoto then answered.
It goes more like:
Seiyuu: "Sakura had always been worried about Naruto, but her actions towards Naruto seem to have a different feel from before, she seems very anxious about Naruto...
How does she feel about Sasuke-kun?"
Kishimoto:
"As for Sakura... Sasuke... what about Sasuke? Naruto is close and she worries about Naruto as well, but as expected, she [loves] Sasuke.
Seiyuu: Because of this, she acted quite haughty towards that guy.
She used Naruto's love for her and told him she loved him.
Kishimoto: On the contrary.... I felt like depicting an honest girl, with a surprisingly stubborn impression.
So... she became such a character, but... well... from here on, maybe I should draw her showing a bit more spirit.
I figured I had placed her in a heroin-like situation
But from the readers I was told harshly that she wasn't heroin-ish at all
Perhaps I should show depict her a bit more like a heroin
Because you say 'Hinata Hinata,' I say 'She's not Hinata' "
Seiyuu: "When I first saw her hugging Naruto, my heart beat throbbed a bit."
Kishimoto:
"Well, an unpleasant person is an unpleasant person, but the feeling I was trying to depict is that you could say "after this, [my opinion of her] has gone up a bit... yeah"
So yeah, pretty much what was said on the topic. Not really much gained from it. Pairings remain as vague as ever, with Sakura getting close to Naruto yet still having feelings for Sasuke. I don't really get the last bit, to be honest, about Kishi saying Sakura is unpleasant or something? Anyways, I get the feeling he intended for her to look better than she did somehow. Guess that is his own mistake.

This looks the first copy of the interview I saw, albeit with Kishi and Junko's (I think it was Junko, I might be wrong) lines separated. Anybody know why the word 'loves' in Kishi's first quote is in brackets? Is it because the word isn't there, but assumed through context? Or is it that the translator wasn't sure what the word was exactly?
Also, what's with the seiyuu's "heart beat throbbed" comment? Is Junko or whoever a SasuSaku shipper?

Actually Shie Nakamura the Japanese voice actress of Sakura is a SS supporter and doesn't like Sakura's character a bit (obviously because she knows very well Sakura will end up with Naruto). She probably does her job just for the pay now that she has the big idea of Kishi's main canon couple.
But I think Sakura's English voice actress Kate Higgins is a NS supporter I think.

'hear beat throbbed' -> well, it depends on the context and the tone (how she actually said it). It could also mean a pleasant thing, i.e. to describe excitement.
Japanese are very indirect people.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe. But I'd given up believing in so much, until I met you. From the first day I saw you, you were everything I ever wanted to believe in. You can do this, Diana. I know you can...But I have to go."
"What? What are you saying?"
"It's okay, this is what I came here to do. I can save today, but you... you can save the world."

Doesn't matter. you never heard that before? heartbeat throbbed basically means she liked that moment.

It was assumed. I remember it was explained in the same way Yamato's own drop off sentence was heavily implied to mean Sakura felt love for Naruto. The sentence went more like 'but still she...for Sasuke...'. So it pretty much meant she had feelings for Sasuke still even while Naruto was growing closer to her heart.
I can't really say what the shipping tastes of the seiyuu were, nor do I really remember which one said what XD that's why I only put 'seiyuu'. However, I do remember (possibly innera) commenting on how 'heart beat throbbed' was a romantic phrase, thus there was something romantic (coming from the Japanese) indicated in Sakura's actions for Naruto.
Though, I don't think the actors pairing preferences really mean much. Since SasuSaku is the most popular hetero Naruto pairing there, it's not all that unlikely some of the seiyuu like it. Not that it would interfere with their performance in any way.

That'd be nice, but then I don't know why she's saying Sakura's being 'haughty' and 'using Naruto's love against him'. *shrugs*
Either way, I know a lot of people here like this interview, but it's always annoyed the heck out of me. Saying Sakura 'cares' about Naruto but 'loves' Sasuke, and then saying he was trying to portray an 'honest girl' during the confession? Make up your mind, Kishi!
I know development is on our side, and the whole MinaKushi comparison was way too uncanny to be ignored, but the amount of trolling he seems to do is really getting annoying.

It's just what we thought: She's falling for Naruto, but still has some kind of feelings for Sasuke.

What? No! Don't jump ship! We've come too far to lose!
But you're partially right, there's always the chance that no pairings will become canon. My only problem with that is, considering the Will of Fire concept, it wouldn't really make sense for Kishi to not show the next generation at the end. And considering how the direction the development has been going, even with that 540 panel that people are blowing out of proportion, NaruSaku seems A LOT more likely than any of the other main character pairings. But, I do suppose there's always the chance we'll just see Naruto and his son, who would happen to look like a clone of him, at the end without seeing the mother. But the way I see it, it's either going to be NS or nothing.
I guess this is getting a little off topic. Maybe we should just open a support group for ship jumpers here, LOL.

I'm over that panel already, Kishi does this so no couple gets revealed too early, otherwise he'll be recieving so much mail from the couples fan base that didn't become canon...though clearly he supports NaruSaku the most from all the things he's already written about them. Besides, main character wise, Naruto's heart will never change
