You're right about that, but with his inevitable fight coming up one day, he'll need it against Sasuke's sword. So, he definitely needs one. Asuma's trench knives would be the best option since it fits his style the best. An added bonus to it is its compatibility with his affinity. Another could also be Kubikiri Houchou (Zabuza's sword), mainly because of the deep meaning in it.
If Itachi sticks around for a bit longer, I'm gonna bet he's gonna train Naruto for a bit. 'cuz if he can't beat Itachi, there's no way he'll be able to touch Sasuke (as Itachi says). If Naruto goes for Zabuza's sword, you can bet Bee will be in on it too. If he prefers Asuma's knives, Itachi will train him alone.

Wow. The idea of Itachi training never truly formed in my mind. But wow, it coincidentally and oddly enough would make sense and fit Kishimoto's style if it were to occur.
