I don't think it's going to be Hanabi, either.  My point was that as stupidly as this franchise is being handled, it could be Hanabi.  It could be anyone, and it wouldn't have to make sense.  They have long passed the point of making sense with their choices for some of these characters.

 

And there's no concrete reason to think the council would insist on a same-village marriage.  Other Kage have married people from other clans and villages, and Gaara's own sister married from outside the village as well.

 

Nevertheless, I'm hoping for Matsuri.  

 

Yes, this was one of the posts I responded to. That Hanabi would be just the thing they would come up with now. We used to think that Sasuke marrying Karin would be how they would connect Naruto and the Sauce, but maybe it's Naruto and Gaara connecting through Hanabi. Hey, it could happen!!

 

As for Matsuri, yes that would be my choice too. The only sticking point is that an arranged marriage with a civilian of their own nation/village seems highly unlikely. Arranged marriages come with benefits of more power or an alliance. 

 

However I like the idea that maybe Gaara bucks the arranged marriage in favor of love with Matsuri (or someone else). I can't imagine them bringing in some OC just for this novel. So my money's on Matsuri.

If Gaara's getting married, then there's a chance he's probably a dad by the time of the epilogue. If so, I just hope he's a better father to his kids than Naruto

This is honestly the only novel I'm interested in. I've always wanted Gaara to find love so I want to see who he ends up with. Plus its not like I'm actually buying it. I'll just read the translations

Well, Naruto was like that about Sakura, too, and that didn't work out.  

 

In Naruto's case he was just smart enough to pretend to crush on Sakura, but far too stupid to know what real love means.

The only reason I ship her with Gaara is because of the anime filler arc. The anime also gives her some good screentime during shippuden's first arc. After that, she just kinda fades out, being a minor character and all. In the war arc, she provides some comic relief like commenting on Temari's relationship. But that's about it.

I haven't watched the recent filler arc where she attends the chuunin exams, though.

Overall, I'd like to think she's grown out of her fangirl phase, considering she would be 21-22 in the novel. I think she's likable enough, she's got a bit of Rin to her, I think.

I do see some resemblence of Rin in Matsuri believe it or not. Well I guess if I'm giving the Gaiden a chance then this shouldn't be as bad as the others just as long as Hyuga princess steps away from it.

Another reason to put Matsuri with Gaara is Gaara's mother. Matsuri kind of resembles her

The potrayal of matsuri is a fangirl in the manga.
She has much more depth in filler.

I don't see any resemblance between her and rin.

If Gaara ends up with Matsuri, it will be another pairing that was born thanks to SP filler the first one includes certain Hyuuga, since it helped to increase her popularity.

Its kinda weird to think about Gaara with a woman. It was always about Naruto, Naruto, Naruto, like ALL THE TIME. It got to a point where it was like, all he thinks about is Naruto.
Its almost like he has a thing for him.
