Eh Gaara is normally a few places above Hinata on the polls.

What polls? There are a dozen polls conducted years ago that give varying results   You remember what they did while advertising RtN?

They baited the pairing fandoms. And they were pretty darn successful- SS/NH fell into the trap big time. Its possible they are using the same tactics again. Gaara just cannot arouse the curiosity of people as much as Hinata would. 

exactly. gaara has beaten her a few times, and even when he hasn't beaten her it's not like it was a significant difference. sure you can argue that it would make sense popularity wise, but barley. plot wise it would make tons of more sense. 

 

hinata simply doesn't belong there. 

But do we know the plot? How can you say 'plot-wise it would make more sense' ? For all we know, Hinata might have a bigger role than Gaara in the movie. And how can you declare that 'Hinata does not belong there' ?!

She doesn't. Gaara is eventually going to be like a brother to Naruto once they share a ceremonial drink together when Naruto becomes Hokage. That's where it makes much more sense plot wise. Does Hinata even compare to this? Absolutely not.

 

In almost all the times Hinata has gained relevancy is was simply out of being a pairing fodder.

Lol. What you or me think doesn't matter one bit. We are not the marketing experts and neither do we know anything about the plot , which character is more relevant in the plot etc.

nah. that scarf only represents Christmas. the last will be shown in december which is the Christmas month. red and green are the colors of Christmas which is coincidently similar to Sakura's eyes and clothes.

That's what I meant with she fit the bill, her being there gets fans talking, Gaara would not have the same reaction, or anyone else for that matter...Hinata gets fans talking about her role in the movie, and her link with Naruto, so she fits the bill. The scarf might have no relevance whatsoever but we need something to talk about darn it, this weeks chapter had all action and hardly any talking, so this it. This is interesting because A, Hinata is in it, B. the Scarf is Red, that happens to be Sakura's colour, Uzumaki Colour AND could also represent the Red String of fate, and the placing of the scarfs tail is very interesting, it just happens to be going between Hinata's and Sakura's pictures.

 

This is perfect fan baiting, the colour of the scarf, and the placing of tail end, this was done to get people to talk about it, get fans arguing over the relavence, and I don't see why we shouldn't talk about it, I came here on Monday and say over a dozen of pages arguing that the fake Shonon Jump post was real. if that was OK then this is actual content so it's perfectly OK to talk about it.

especially NS/SS.. they are really obsessed with everything they could see. everything is a pairing hint for them
