I wouldn't say negative... The way she acts is b/c she has yet to acknowledge the mistakes she has done in the past. Saber was by no means perfect, and her undergoing a development was done perfectly in my eyes (yes, even if it turns out that she was a flawed ruler of her country). I loved her last snippets in the anime. The way she stood in that battlefield with all of her men defeated but still looking forward and rising again... I personally loved it.

She went through development, only it was negative though, bjt since f/Z is the prequel to F/SN there is no problem.

in F/Z her first wish was " to make her country suceed", after her development throughout the story her wish becomes to erase herself from story because she thinks she completely failed
Thats negative development she goes from thinking she was the best ruler she could be to think that everything was her fault and she was had no meaning to be king

SPOILER VN

In Fate route not only she manages to become more "humanized" but she also learns to deal with her past and recognizes nothing could have been done

in UBW she reaches quite the same conclusion, she at least came to understand kiritsugu decision in F/Z

Her worst ending is in HF route, she manages to get the power of the grail but it warps her and she becomes what she became there, with death as her only salvation

I think she got more spot light in fate zero, and more action scene than in fate stay/night (ubw or hf).
But I think the character who get the most focus is kiritsugu.

i think the focus was more on kotomime/kiritsugu,
thats why it was so cool (kotomine rules)

thats also why I quite like HF, Kotomine is amazing there too

Fate is her route, She has most of the focus
in F/Z she has good fights but her development is negative

The episode was way better than I was expecting. Good development for basically every character in the episode, and everything in general was just done really well. It also flowed very naturally from the last episode of cour 1 into this episode, which I wasn’t expecting either. Very promising for the show.

Well, first of all, I prefer Saber in Fate/Zero over Fate Route b/c we don't have to deal with Shirou's constant interruptions (that way she actually got to fight more XD). I will agree with you that her development in Fate/Zero was negative, but she only came to the realization of her mistakes towards the end though in Fate/Zero. It's perfectly normal to feel like a failure after everything that has happened. I liked seeing that development of her regardless- it was more interesting to me.

She didn't, but she knows that the adaptation from Deen doesn't follow the Fate route (it's a horrible mix out of all three).

I've been told that the way Shirou acts in the Deen version is actually how he acts in the Fate Route, too... Now I don't know what to believe about Shirou XD

I understand about the fights ( though I think its partly due to UFO animation )

its just that her negative development happened mainly after the banquet of kings where Gilgamesh and Alexander look down on her and kitten like that, that made her rethink her time as king , for the worst
But i think i can understand why you like this too, I mean i like it too, it adds complexity to the character
I would have problem with this if she had no further development after it, but Im glad she had

Just this proves he has no clue on Shirou's character, Ufo is portraying him quite well but its also quite lacking in some parts
the lack of some monologues hurts his character, makes him look dumb and retarded and specially on Fate route makes him seem sexist which is not the case

I didn't play it, I have seen stuff from it and I know Shirou isn't as annoying as some says with all the sexist talk even though I don't think he sexist...he gets kinda annoying but I understand him enough to like him

Well, this is the Unlimited Bladeworks Route, so Shirou falling in love with Rin was bound to happen. I just forgot that he confessed to her during that starry night scene XD
