Sorry didn't really mean to step on any nerves here, I've just always seen them as extremely similar characters, both in personality and focus (and in a way appearance).  Both trying to get stronger because of MC, while both being deeply in love.  Anyway not the place for it.  Like I said it's strange for me to see both be shipped at the same time and the reasons behind it would be very interesting.

Well, that and also his narrative relevancy to Hinata could have some light shed on it with this image. Will Kishi immortalise the idea of Hinata putting the well being of others (specifically her clan members) before Naruto?! This could give us our answer.

No, it's an official databook.

The first NS fans who I knew read Bleach shipped IchiHime. That surprised me; not that you can't like any ship you like, of course. I just expected differently haha.

You know speaking of Bleach pairings, and no offense, but how can you be a NaruSaku shipper and IchiHime shipper at the same time?  This has always confused me .  IchiHime is like a copy paste of NaruHina imo.  Two extremely main character centric fangirls with similar personalities both with what appears to be unrequited loves.  Just curious :).

This is actually funny because I'm hardcore NS but with Bleach I don't invest as much in to a ship. But I actually would lean toward IchiHime. I think that it's honestly much different in that situation because Ichigo and Orihime actually HAVE interactions and development. Ichigo used to barely speak to Orihime but then he was off trying his hardest to save her. Ichigo has shown to care about her and they are on the same team and have been fighting together. Plus I think they just look cute together. They chill every day at school since forever. Plus Orihime is less obsessive imo. But I love Rukia

I never found databooks to be reliable anyway. Even if there's a suki arrow, it won't make a difference to me.

I heard that same commentary once and since I've watched both I say it's kinda far fetched. Yes, there are similarities mainly in the first arc of HxH and Forest of Death (Chunin exams) arc in Naruto but that's all: similarities. Some people also talk about Kurapika (a guy from HxH) who has a similar background with Sasuke but the reasons behind each background are entirely different. In conclusion I could argue there are some similarities but that's that. Protagonists with completely different backgrounds and stories completely different after the first HxH arc. This is my opinion though.

 

Yeah those were the same arguments my friends used, the Chunin Exams being similar, the MC's having similar personalities, (didn't help originally were voiced by same VA.) and ofcourse one of the charactors background being very similar to Sasukes including the eye ability.

I don't think it's quite the same, Orihime is an orphan, she understands Ichigo's pain, and guilt, while I might not like IchiHime myself I can understand why someone else would, and honestly really don't think the two pairings are the same, they share similarities but not the same, for one One is a Hime only in name while the other is a hime. You don't always like a pairing because they share similar traits to another fandom, you very often like a pairing because that is the pairing that makes most sense to you.

 

I have more than one friend who ship NaruHina but hate the idea of IchiHime.
