That is canon, both of them actually had some feelings for each other, more than friendship.

Yup. It's pretty much cannon. I don't expect everyone to ship them, but the majority acknowledges that they are a ship. Makes it so much easier and less frustrating.

 

Togashi: Disappeared from the face of the earth because of Dragon Quest. Therefore, he's "lazy."

Mashima: The guy who actually done 8 chapters in a month, which none of them looks like OPM ONE version, so that's a lot of work. Not to mention, still work on pictures at his Twitter account.

Now that Ishida-sensei is working on the calendar that uses all 366 days, that's a lot of work. We thought it would be just reuse images from the past chapters, but instead, it's all new. That's just too much. No wonder the pre-order went up at Japan Amazon.

And you do know that I still think TG:re will end in a tragic way, right? After what had happened in TG, I'm keeping my expectations low for a "Happy End".

And even if it is a tragic ship... If the path that has lead them up to their final moment is beautiful, I think I will fine. I might cry internally, but at least I won't regret having shipped them.

The V-organization is also really interesting if you ask me with their whole objective to preserve balance b/w both the human and ghoul world. Shiki Kijima is most likely connected to them.
Also, remember in Berserk when you told me I would miss something for sure? Well, now it's my turn Kijima's partner Furata is speculated to have already appeared in TG. When Touka went to visit Kaneki's college in chapter 117, she mistook someone for Kaneki. There's a chance that that college student was actually Furata. He has a black mole under his right eye.
