That's her character and that's how she rolls. Picking on Hinata, or why this and why that, is like saying why Sakura hits Naruto and has a temper without knowing or ignoring that she's a tsundere.
There's nothing wrong with disliking a character type, I don't think there's anything wrong with disliking Sakura for being a tsundere/because one doesn't like that trope, I don't think there's anything wrong with disliking Hinata because she's shy to a fault --especially when using analytical reasoning to express one's tastes. Different strokes for different folks, disliking a character and explaining why (and also pointing out the positives of a character) is not picking on a character (I'm not sure a fictional character can be picked on). Bashing a character is when manga reasoning is ignored when describing a character to portray a character in a negative light. Hinata is meant to lag behind Naruto, reaching Naruto is when her story is finished, but the reason I dislike her isn't because she lags it's because until recently she's never tried to catch up to Naruto in her own way, and because she's all about Naruto. Her team barely matters to her, her cousin mattered to her for a brief amount of time, the conflicts within her clan don't matter to her, it's only Naruto, Naruto, Naruto and I can't like a character who is just about her crush. Hinata could have been a really interesting character, but as written I just don't see it, or I didn't until she stopped Naruto from wallowing, and I don't think we're supposed to like how singleminded she is in her worship of Naruto (which is shocking since this manga is about the greatness of that character). Every time Hinata does something rash, thinking only of Naruto, or his Nindo without thinking of how she can accomplish something, she fails. But when she was strong enough because of her grief, she succeeded. If she continues on this path, I might begin to find her interesting, and if her obsession with Naruto lessens, I might actually enjoy the possibilities with NH.
Question: How do you want Sakura to realize her feelings? Do you want her to have on-panel closure with Sasuke first? Do you want Sakura to figure out her feelings for Naruto internally, or do you want someone (like Sasuke) to essentially say overtly what Yamato and Sai were insinuating resulting in Sakura realizing some things?
