I'm back!
All right then, lets proceed with a question that has been on mind for the while I've been gone:
Would it be adequate to say that Naruto has been in the Friendzone for the time being?

Man, he's been in the friend zone, since the beginning of part two, though I think, for the most part, he is really content with that. Of course, he would really love it if he's out of the friend zone and into the relationship zone, but he probably doesn't think it like that, at this stage, as an option, though it is never out of the question.
The thing that makes the option, never out of the question, is that Sakura has these lingering feelings for Naruto where she does not know where it goes. Is it going into the relationship zone or going to still remain in the friend zone? Either way, both of them is going to still be happy with their company, no matter what.

I'd have to disagree and say that they've both advanced a bit past the friendzone but not to the official romantic stage.

You know, out of those two pictures, I like Toasty's post the best, looks so well refined.
And to Fenris, all right, fair enough, the key here is to define Naruto and Sakura's relationship with each other, at this moment, and see where it goes, and where it should not go, and what other directions could it take in the future, that is unexpected.

^ Flirtation, Sakura offering Naruto to observe her in a flirtation/sexually appealing manner in the beginning of part 2 which was huge for her considering her Tsundere attitude. That's one of the many scenes to say the least

Not even. Naruto basically admitted to Sai the only reason he was holding back from telling her was because of the promise he couldn't keep to her.
