Y'know, if there was one side that is basically the Joker card in the pairing wars, it would be Kurama. Why?? because no one knows Naruto better than him. Only he would know what Naruto's feelings are. If he ever makes a statement about Naruto's love life, you can bet it's make-or-break when the time comes. (NaruSasu comment not withstanding).
I agree. I'm playing with this exact concept in
Wilderness, and the first evidence appeared in the most recent chapter.
And the funny thing is that
it was Kurama who rained on the NH parade by interrupting Naruto's inner monologue and reminding him that there were more people who have already sacrificed their lives for Naruto and it was not just Lady Hinata who was ready to do that for him.

Exactly. I noticed that too, and mentioned it early on the #615 thread. It was very obvious that the intention was to downplay Hinata's significance -- at least that's how I read it.
There is one scene that apparently was off panel, but not anymore, and that is the flashback to Naruto confessing he loved Sakura in a more serious manner. It's not really a 'development', but it was an important moment we didn't know about until Sai showed up.
Good point. However, I think it was done in that way to prove Naruto's feelings while saving the Big Moment for Naruto to confess himself, when the timing is finally right.
Why Naruto didnt reject this then?
When sakura asked if you dont like me say so and Sai when he told the truth.
Even kishimoto stated this on his interview that Naruto's close.
And moreover it's rather annoying the hero to reinforce his feelings every arc just to shut up the fans.
You're just in denial.
Sakura's screen time, dude you forgot that Hinata was introduced on part 2 30 chapters later, after it started, and during the summit arc she only appears at the ending of it along with neji and the others.
but ofc we have to ignore all the 600 chapters and count only the last 50.
Yes, I harp on that all the time -- the fact that Sakura says, "If you don't like me then just say so!! Don't try to turn things around..." and Naruto doesn't deny how he feels about her. Instead he says, "But this makes no sense! Why would you bother coming all the way here just for that?" <---- That is an implicit admission that he does like/love her, as if the look on his face when Sakura first said she loved him wasn't proof enough. ;)
The anime tends to give good animation to most pairing moments. Remember that after 166 they still made the OVA, which had NaruSaku. In my opinion Pierrot will give this chapter excellent scenery, but that doesn't necessarily mean its because of a specific ship or character bias.
I agree. Sakura's confession was done beautifully too.
You can tell it from the flashback during his death and also during his talk with tsunade before he leaves.
Yes. Jiraiya had told Tsunade that, "Getting dumped always makes a man stronger. But then again, men aren't meant to pursue happiness." Then she says to herself, "Always trying to act cool. If you make it back here, you won't have to put on a tough front for me anymore..." As he's dying, Jiraiya reflects on his life and considers it full of failures, citing specifically that "Tsunade turned me down every time." At the moment of Jiraiya's death Kishimoto switches to panels of Tsunade.

There is so much foreshadowing on both sides -- that Jiraiya's feelings for Tsunade never changed and he never loved anyone else, while Tsunade's feelings did eventually change even though she figured it out too late. In my opinion, that's a pretty big sign post suggesting that Naruto and Sakura will not fail where their masters did.
