kishi was so damn lazy that he just made those repressed feelings into evil naruto, and it's up to good naruto to tnj evil naruto. because resenting the villagers is a bad thing. kishi just didn't feel like diving into the psychological repercussions that shunning and being an orphan can have on a boy. that evil naruto could have made for some decent character development. probably could have been the best arc too.

 

He didn't even have the balls to show Bee's dark side, considering I imagine Bee's would be more prominent, especially with Ay treating him like he was a weapon and his willingness to abandon the Hidden Cloud Village when it was believed Taka had kidnapped him.

Didn't the original SM dub change one of their genders to make it a heterosexual couple? Also Shinji and Kaworu? I'll have to rematch it; but at the time I just read it as a mentally messed up Shinji seeking a connection with ANYONE. Also, it's been years so I was probably wrong.

I swear I won't go OT too much but I wanted to expand on someone unburnt said here. People often talk about how they don't mind homosexuality so long as it isn't flaunted in their faces, or put too visibly on display. But they very rarely realize that heterosexual relationships are constantly flaunted and put on display, from TV to advertisements to family pictures in an office.

The only gay guy I've seen in a shounen manga was Bulat from Akame ga Kill, but that was done more for comedic purposes.
