Just you writing every 2nd message about sexism and picturing girls by Kishimoto, and ignoring mentioning other half by yourself, makes you hypocrisy a little. But other than that, do what you wanted to do =)

 

Seriously, unless you really are some MRA person, I don't get your angle here. You don't need to necessarily point out sexism towards the men in Naruto because it's not a problem the way it is for women. Most of the male characters have clearly defined hopes, dreams, and aspirations that may or may not include romance. Conversely, the majority of women in Naruto are defined by their love interests. Kishi's statements about what is, and is not acceptable for a woman when it comes to romance and love are particularly problematic. Are there unhappy men in terms of love by 700? Sure. But they are presented as whole, well-rounded characters who aren't simply defined by who they love.

I have rarely seen homosexual relationships in Shounens, but it would be interesting to see that.

The only gay guy I've seen in a shounen manga was Bulat from Akame ga Kill, but that was done more for comedic purposes.

I mean, I think I understand your point. I think someone else posted this a month ago (either Luffy or AHK), along the lines that the men in Naruto, especially our titular hero, are rarely, if ever, allowed to show emotion. Naruto isn't allowed to get upset over his treatment as a child. He shows no anger towards anyone for hiding his parentage from him. He's told to toughen up and soldier on when Jiraiya died. Rarely is he allowed to show emotional weakness. I find that problematic.

If you ask me, there were two portrayals of homosexual relationships. One was b/w Toya and Yukito. Their relationship transcended the boundaries of bromance if you ask me.

The other one was onesided. It seemed like Tomoyo cared more for Sakura than simply a friend. She vaguely hinted at it.

EDIT: Oh, and I remember now: Shaoran also had a "crush" on Yukito, the same guy Sakura was in love in. But it turned out that affection had other origins.

Saw is as a kid, doubt I even noticed it, maybe in new version it's more obvious? Like card captor, because girl was totally into main heroine.

Aaand I'm ok with no gay in Naruto. I'm normaly tolerate to such a kind of characters, but only until they are forced onto reader in purpose.

Transexuals, transgenders and transvestites are more common in anime than lesbians, gays AND those two are more often than asexuals and bisexuals. But all of them are more often than pansexuals, lol.

kishi was so damn lazy that he just made those repressed feelings into evil naruto, and it's up to good naruto to tnj evil naruto. because resenting the villagers is a bad thing. kishi just didn't feel like diving into the psychological repercussions that shunning and being an orphan can have on a boy. that evil naruto could have made for some decent character development. probably could have been the best arc too.
