This makes sense. This was the case for RtN as well. Of course Kishi would not completely write the script. He has never written screenplays before and whatever this movie is about must have been approved by him and the studio. I personally don't think this will be canon unless Kishi himself states it. It's clear that the manga will be the true source for the real ending. I'm still sticking with my prediction that the last chapter will be a massive timeskip with Naruto as Hokage and already with a family and this movie will be the events that occurs before that.

Ok, everything is made by Kishimoto. When it comes to animation and probably the placement script or something, that's them. Remember, manga and animation are two different profession.

Let's see... the story is written by Kishi just like RtN.The movie is a closure to the series.We have a few informations about this cuz they don't spoil us and we have 5 chapters until the ending so he needed a movie to end everything.

It's as much canon as Road to Ninja was. Kishi gave ideas and did sketches for that movie as well. In other words, this shouldnt be looked at as an epilogue.

all I see is "the storyline is in the making and Kishi gives them some ideas". It doesnt say "The mangaka writes the story and professionals write the screenplay"

 

"contributing ideas" could refer to anything from the outfits to the soundtrack

So it's still their ideas being put forth, it's just the script writer's job to take all that and put it into a typical movie script.

We know Kishi has worked on it and it has been stated to connect to the orginal work.

I have always liked the phrase- 'Its not how you start, its how you finish'.

 

Endings are always supposed to be the best part of the story where everything comes together smoothly. But in this manga's case, its turning into one big mess.

The story was by him, he just wasn't the screenplay writer (that was Yuka Miyata, lol). He's not a screenplay writer, so he's not going to write the entire script, but that doesn't mean they're not his ideas. He gives the ideas, and the writer takes them and creates what he's given into a complete script.

This makes sense. Writing for a film is completely different from writing for a comic, book, tv show, song or any other form of media because of how each medium is set up.

Since the writers will most likely receive input for how the story unfolds from Kishi himself, any pairing related decision will come from him and him alone. The movie script writers aren't gonna go against the wishes of the guy who made the source material, Kishi's gonna tell the writers exactly what he wants to happen and they'll just translate it into film script form.
