That's not so surprising taking that his movies had been considered nothing but failures in the last eight years, I wonder what happened whit that talent that he used in creating great movies, such as the sixthy sense and sings, now, those were master pieces.

I WISH. I don't think he would since he's made a ton of money (even off his bad movies). Not to mention if Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are continuing to make their abominable parody movies, I'd say Shamylan has a good chance of doing a few more projects. In fact, he's supposed to be doing one right now with Will and Jaden Smith.

Yeah, heard about that:

Can't believe they're actually willing to work with M. Night after all his catastrophic movies lately i.e. The Last Airbender >.>

It's a good pay check and besides Will has been there before with Hancock.

But one critic put it best when he said that The Last Airbender was "utterly joyless." I've thought back to that description time and again. It took a bright, interesting story with wonderfully fleshed-out characters, and it completely stripped the joy out of it. So disappointing.
I think only the fan base made that movie profitable. And the same thing with the Will Smith movie. He's a money maker. So even if M. Night makes only a halfway decent movie, he still make big bucks off it.

Yeah but the fanbase was pretty much unanimous with how terrible "The Last Airbender" was. Trying to make a sequel won't help make money anymore. Azula is my favorite character in the series and I'm not about to watch him kill her. Not happening.

No doubt. It was unbelievably disappointing. I really left the movie theatre thinking either something went horribly wrong, with money or filming or actors, or that, in the end, he really hated this undertaking and just wanted to be done with the thing. I can't imagine he would ever go through with the sequels.

We have to hope that the company pulls the plug because he still wants a sequel.

Yeah, but I think M. Night owns the movie rights to the series. So any sequels would have to come through him. But then again, he could farm it out to someone else and just collect a paycheck.

Nickelodeon would still have control over what goes on in the series though.
A part of me actually wants to see the sequels made just so it doesn't even make #10 at the box-office.

A sequel to the cartoon? Not the movie. That would be horrible.
