Sasuke put a hole in Naruto's chest and would've killed the new Team 7 if Orochimaru hadn't appeared to stop him in part 2.

If he actually had little care in his heart, he wouldn't have done those things. Hell, he wouldn't have betrayed the village if he cared.

No, Sasuke didn't force himself, he just didn't care. He may have had feelings at the end of part 1 (where he spared Naruto), but in part 2 is a different story.

Well, how much Sasuke still cares is open to interpretation because right now we only have a little insight into what he thinks. Right now we know he desires to sever the bonds between himself and his former team. How far has come is not that clear. It could be said that he attempted attack on Naruto signifies he doesn't care and he didn't seem at all reluctant to fight Sakura when she charged. but that doesn't mean he could go all the way through it or woudn't feel remorse if he would did (I personally believe that he can kill them, but would end up hating himself for doing it). I'd have to back an look, but supposedly Sasuke pulled that lung shot so that instead of being fatal it was simply severe, suggest that at the time he didn't have it him to actually finish him off.

Given what I think will happen to Sasuke, I'm of the opinion that while he wants a complete severance, he hasn't obtained it and never will. That really what you have is a deep repression, but not total elmination and that at some point Naruto and Sakura will be able to bring them back to surface.

Also, jadenik, I believe Sasuke was serious in what he said. There is no reason to believe he wasn't and can't think of a reason for Sasuke to lie when he says stuff like that.

I think Sasuke has his bonds severed, but Naruto and Sakura are just in denial. I kind of wish they'd give up on him and just kill him already. That way, we could move on to the next phase of the Naruto world.

I believe that if you check it again, Sasuke was suprised that Naruto was able to block the Chidori strike enough to make it miss his (Naruto's) heart, which was Sasuke's target.

He might have point though; sometimes authors do make the guy fall in love with the 'other' girl, but the difference was that the 'other' girl has a big role in those stories, whereas Hinata does not.

That's just a cheap cop-out. Just because Naruto isn't ogling and blushing over Sakura all the tiime doesn't mean he isn't infatuated with her anymore. NaruHina/SasuSaku often accuse us of downplaying Sakura and Hinata's feelings, yet they turn around and do the same thing with Naruto's feelings. There are three instances which I remember that shows that Naruto is at least still attracted to Sakura in Part 2:

1. Asking her dates on two seperate occasions
2. Blushing over her when she displayed her new abilities after the time-skip
3. Initially attempting to peek on her until Yamato warned him about Jiraiya peeking on Tsunade.

I try not to downplay Hinata and Sakura's crush, but the fact of the matter is that Naruto has made the most progress into getting to know his crush, why he likes her, and developing a strong relationship with said crush, even if it isn't romantic (yet).

My NaruSaku manifesto is finally complete, but just when I thought I could go ahead and post it, a mod from the lj ship-manifesto community sent me a question on the day I was to complete it and post it. While the question is understandable, those mods there tend to be... extremely slow. So now I might have to wait several weeks for them to reply before I can post the damn thing.

Let's see...I have lost all respect for the NaruHina fanbase (reading some of Darkhope's latest posts was the final straw), I only respect two SasuSaku debators (PB and IchaIchaParadise, or just IchaIcha on H&E), both sides arguments rely on the notion that Naruto has given up on Sakura (a cheap cop-out) or Sakura still has feelings for Sasuke (when nothing has really shown that she still does in Part II as it's too vague to tell at the moment), completely disregarding the moments where she thought of Naruto in a "soft" way ("What is this feeling? Naruto is so..."), basically disregarding Naruto's feelings for Sakura, becoming reliant on suppositions rather than facts, utilizing mistranslations, and basically reducing themselves to something of a horde of lemmings.

God, I hate shipping debates...Whatever the outcome is, it will truly be an awesome sight to behold as flame wars, stupidity, and blind optimism run rampant throughout the Naruto fandom.

Take it from her perspective, what the hell would you do when a friend of yours is about to betray the village and go join the enemy for power. You would do anything you could to try and persuade them to stop. Even if Sasuke did say "sure, lets go" I doubt Sakura would be willing to go all the way with him. Remember, Sakura is the only member in Team 7 who hasn't suffered, her perfect little world, or whatever was left of it came crashing down when Sasuke left the village. She realized then that not everything will go the way you want it to go.

But I thought Sakura suffered with insecurities as a child, being left out, made fun of as a small girl? Even if it was just teasing and such, she was a younger child, so I'd think that would have a pretty big effect on her in the future, as shown when she was fighting Ino in the Chuunin exams. It did, isn't she still a little touchy on the subject of her forehead, or am I being deluded by fanon?

Yeah she did, but it didn't last long. Also, while that might be suffering, it wouldn't even hold a candle to the suffering Naruto and Sasuke had to go through in their childhood. Naruto was ostracized by nearly everyone in the village, and Sasuke's idol of an older brother murdered his parents. You can't compare that type of childhood to Sakura's.

Also, Ino was the reason Sakura doesn't have insecurities anymore; she was her childhood friend and role model in a way. Sakura was trying to prove to her that she wasn't going to be 'under' her anymore...that sounds bad XD.

Actually, she's IchaIcha-Sama on the SS vs NS boards. Yeah, Karasu, those 2 are good. I debate with them all the time on those boards (It's SO much fun!) But come on, look at it this way: Since when did NaruHina shippers EVER have a canon argument? They never did.

Once there was this time........wait.....er............well..........never mind.

From the last NaruHina debater I debated with, he basically brought in Fanon, and lots of it. Plus he used fillers. He said that he knew it was gonna be canon from all the AMV's, fanfics, fanart, etc.
