Well, I finished TG. what an unpleasant ending. All characters that I was intrested in either became dead or changed in bad way.

Well, I finished TG. what an unpleasant ending. All characters that I was intrested in either became dead or changed in bad way.

You and me missed the outburst of the fans when it ended. I have to go back to some forums to see how it was reacted and they were "WHAT!!!!!" Funny how Japan voted this one to be the best series that ended, even with ending. I would admit, if it did truly end there, I would be like "Well that's one way to hit me in my Kintama." It was like I was watching first episode of Ga-Rei-Zero or ending to the original Neon Genesis.

Shame I missed the fun...

I missed the huge outburst as well, I didn't join the TG fandom until like maybe the time when Tokyo Ghoul chapter 8 or 9 came out.

I joined much later as well. You remember my reactions. I was so into it.

Fun Fact: Ishida-sensei drew a picture of Hairu Ihei in some clothes (PJ?) and confirmed to have pink hair. *nosebleed* I believe it was two days ago. *Wipes face* Well, can't wait for the next chapter.

Well, what can I say? I really loved this story, intresting plot and great characters. I can see where Ishida took some inspiration from. Firts of all - Death Note or original - "Crime and Punishment"? Kaneki may be MC of story, but through whole time of 143 chapters, we can see dualism, some parts of story being told from view of Kaneki, some from view of Amon. Old but intresting way to show progress of story.

 

Second - Hunter x Hunter? Same as HxH - there is great picture of powers and ways to show them, but accent of battles and different moves wasn't the most important point of story, but it's developed far better than in HxH (where systyem is established, but all that was shown is far from being great in terms of showing the whole difference of powers)

 

Third - JoJo's Bizzare Adventure? Arcana and Taro cards rarely used in manga, so thats was something I saw in very few manga's. 

 

In general - pretty much all was intresting, characters are great! I liked most of them, except maybe some Aoigiri and Rize. Favorits are - Kaneki (eh, maybe not really, but he is good MC, somewhat lost, but intresting to watch), Touka (I can't really say that she was intresting in first part, she was clear tsundere without great comic relief, but latter she became much deeper as character) Chef and other staff wasn't all that intresting, maybe except that black dog in the end, and Yomo. Uta has intresting desing. And pretty much all CCG was intresting.

 

Funny how there was allusion of Arima to Kaneki. People discussed "grey" morality in TG, but it's far less than it was said by others. On of the most wicked "monsters" of people was Mado - as he was shown in beggining - but in the end - he was a gentle father, and good sempai, all he was doing to ghouls only because what they've done to his wife, that broke him. But from ghouls - it was shown much more horrifing things.

 

Rize, Joker - great extra's.

 

Ending - that's really tragic one, not because Kaneki (at least for me, I somewhat knew that he's going to survive in some way), but CCG, damn, so many good characters died, that's very sad   Amon, such a good character - died and Amon x Akira with it, and his kohai - too. 

 

From intresting characters that goes into sequle on Uta stayed in there.

Not that I've done injustice at least once, if AOT i shi-ty, I say it's shi-ty   TG apparently worth it's hype from Trang an KO. And it maybe not my favorit story, but quality of it is without doubt is highest.

You do know that there's a sequel right, called Tokyo Ghoul :re? It takes place 3 years after TG. It's funny that you mentioned HxH, Ishida learned from Togashi. What did you think of the revelation about Uta at the end?
