So after 10 chapters, my opinion:

PHEW, that was totally not as bad as AOT, totally not 

Drawing stile - it's medicore in the beggining, apart of scenes like Kaneki tried to do sepuku, lol, there is other drawing style

Fast beggining - 10 chapters of introducing is very rare for a shonen-like story, good.

Characters - Kaneki - MC... rare one I could say, author really pictured a normal student, not a "normal japanese student" as in 99% of stories right now, but more realistic one, who feels and interacts in story as one would think himself would react to situations like those.

Touka - for 9 chapters, I really disliked her character, that haircut, that attitude towards a Kaneki, but in chapter 10, that smile, and that saving of Kaneki and his friend, changed my opinion to neutural.

What I don't like - well, thus far - nothnig bad in here... Wait, in chapter 10 Kaneki because really dumb "What meat? Why they can't hunt" -___- that was not good. But overall, I can see potential that people like this manga for.

Considering how much you hate AoT, I can imagine how relieved you must feel about the first ten chapters of TG XD

Agree with you about the drawing style: It's not horrible (Togashi and ONE say "Hi"), but nothing special. It should become better around the 40-50 chapters.

Yeah, Kaneki is pretty realistically portrayed. You really get the feeling that this is a completely, ordinary boy who loves literature, is relavely shy, and is not very sociable. You could almost say he's the "boring" MC XD That of course makes his character transformation later on very effective and is what I think attracted many readers towards TG.

Touka: Give her time I'd say. Many readers who are iffy with her start liking her around the 30-40 chapters. She grows on most of the readers later on (oh yeah, she becomes pretty hot later on I can't even imagine her w/out that hairstyle of hers anymore). She has a sweet relationship with her classmate Yoriko :3

lol, I don't buy people, now discussion of NnT is me and AHK sometimes, that's it    You either way will become meh about BnHA, because it's only good in terms of characters, plot is not that good, [or it is to me, because that's practically a comics, but with more main characters, and setting is rather limited, but it's still good manga, but not all that exciting].

Anyway, I'm on a 12th chapter.

Yeah, early chapters of TG was going for real approach, like just slice of life style that isn't asking for wacky "EHHH!!!" approach. It doesn't help that it's Seinen target, so it was going for real. Then, it become its own identity as time goes on. Now it's like something you'll see Slenderman sequel due to scratchy/terror approach. Well, it happens when action happens.

I guess he learnt something from being HxH assistant. Well...thankfully hiatus is not one.

Ishida definitely is a fan of Togashi's work, especially HxH. He made several fanarts of HxH (he loves Hisoka). Dude even jokingly said that he would a Hisoka prequel spinoff with that pic here
