Kishi is fond of Sakura so no biggie and he did said in the last interview that he was going to fix her heroine role, let's see if Sakura will be more heroic in future chapters.

And honestly, I am prone to side with Soupy. The official translators can be better or worse translators, but I doubt they are biased as well.
Nevertheless, I haven't read the chapters 469 and 474 themselves (I preffer waiting for the printed volumes), but after reading several spoilers, translations and online opinions my interpretation is she loves Naruto but she still retains lingering feelings towards Sasuke. However she has choosen Naruto and wants him. That is what I get from all what the characters have stated and revealed.
In fact, when I think about it, Sakura falling in love with Naruto but still loving Sasuke one or other way is EXACTLY what has been happening throughout the whole manga. It has been hinted over and again since Zabuza's first appearance at the latest. Obviously, Kishimoto is milking the love triangle for all it is worth.
Anyway I would like suggesting another debate subject: the "deserving" argument.
Truthfully I think the "She doesn't deserve him" argument is preposterous, not only because love doesn't work like that (you don't choose falling in love with the most "deserving" person), but also because it seems implying the other person is too good and perfect for you.
Why am I bringing this up? Because today I was checking a Ranma fanfiction 1/2 forum, and a poster mentioned he had been reviewing -and criticizing- a fanfic where the author was hooking up Ranma (the main male character) with a Mary Sue, and trashing Akane (the main female character), and the author replied his constructive criticism stating she wanted hooking up the main male character with her Mary Sue construct instead of the female main character because she didn't deserve him (and the best way to achieve that "worthy" goal was turning the main female character in a b*tch
I would retort: "You are right. She doesn't deserve someone is arrogant, incredibly narcissist, awfully big-mouthed, bratty, rude and is constantly insulting her or diminishing her skills."
I love the main character, but... Good Heavens! That person was behaving like if he was too good for evil, evil Akane.
Thus, my argument would be:
- Sakura doesn't deserves Naruto!
- You are right. She doesn't deserve a pervert, rude, loud-mouthed, impulsive, annoying, thick-headed stalker (all of them canon traits).
- But Naruto isn't so bad!
- Of course not. Neither Sakura is. Naruto AND Sakura have both good and bad traits, partially because they are children, and they are still maturing and casting away their most inmature and most negative personality flaws. Both of them are far from perfect persons. And I like them BECAUSE that.
Edit: Oh. I see you were already moving on while I was writing my post. My apologies.

Why not just ask her to take a much clearer picture (of course if she can and wants to that is) and see what goes on in the chapter.
On one side you've got people saying it's exactly the same and on the other side you've got people saying that Sai was talking about Sakura's feelings for Sasuke in the past tense. Lets face it, the picture was hard to read, maybe that's what leading to the confusion. I want to see the whole chapter in english by viz media in CLEAR pictures. Right now, I trust Ciardha more than Miss Soupy because from what I remember, the U.S. translation seems to refer to Sakura's crush in the past tense and Miss Soupy's analogy of Sakura's confession is nothing more then negative nancy talk. Clearly some people had issues with the confession because it wasn't what they hoped for.
We just need better pictures.
EDIT: I saw the pictures and I could just say that when Sai said "for had fallen in love with him" that was in past tense. The rest of the times Sai said love could have been love as in friendship, teammate, pals, buddies, and such. Why is it so hard for people to see that there's more meaning to the word love then romance. I RUFUSE to believe that Sakura still has lingering feelings for Sasuke AT ALL. Her flashbacks of the old Sasuke could have been random flashbacks of good old memories but that doesn't mean that she still has a crush on Sasuke, it just means that she cares for him as a friend and teammate and nothing more. I couldn't read the picture with Naruto thinking of part two Sakura but I'm confident that she has moved on from her crush on Sasuke a long time ago and has been developing feelings for Naruto probably before part two even started. It's just stupid to still have feelings for someone who doesn't give a crap about you, I don't care how difficult it is as many of you keep saying, she had plenty of time to get over it and move on (which I think she did) and she did say that she's the only one who knows what she's thinking.
Where are you Ciardha! Don't abandon those who agree with you!

Sometimes I wonder if Kishimoto regrets creating Hinata, since he aways have to go through the frustation of explaining to the stuborn fandom that she is not the main heroine, but just a side character. Some people just seems to not be able to acknowle Sakura as the main female character

Excuse me? This is not just 'negative nancy talk'. I gave actual evidence. The official english translation I gave was from my copying what was said in shippudenchans scans. I didn't just make it all up to be negative. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but unless you have actual proof of some sort, it stands as it is. And 'fallen in love with' can be used to refer to present love. For example: I married the man I had fallen in love with. And no, the confession was not what I had hoped for. I had hoped for Sakura to confess to Naruto without all that extra stuff happening and to actually be sure of herself 100%. When the time comes for them to really talk about their feelings, I suspect things will be much better.
Edit: And one more thing, I also linked the japanese translation which was explained by an NS fan. There are different verbs for love in japanese, and the verb used by Sai was 'daisuki' which refers to romantic love. I encourage people to read all the evidence I provided so I don't have to repeat myself... *sigh*

You're preaching to the choir here. You've got one person who keeps arguing something else, not looking at your posts. BLOLOLOLOL NARUTO AND KAKASHI LOVE SASUKE ROMANTICALLY DUR HURRRR.

But for some instance, We all knew what happened when Sasuke and Sakura met. Sakura is on a flashback with the old Sasuke( which it seems to be shallow because those are kinda not interactions, it was more Sakura looking at Sasuke while Sasuke is ignoring her plus the confession the thank you.)
But those are finished.
The only thing that mattered is Sakura beleving in both of them. But if you ask me, I presonally believed that she believed on Naruto.

You made the points quite well.
There is debating, and there is going in circles with people who are determined to hold onto an overly negatively image of Sakura, despite what Kishimoto writes in the manga and says in interviews. I've been in too many fandoms over the years and seen the same thing crop up- especially directed at a main female character if she is a realistic strong willed but intensely compassionate type like Sakura.
I did see the raw text when it was in spoiler format (one of the last chapters we got raw spoilers for, sadly) and it agreed with Viz's past tense when it comes to her feelings for Sasuke, present tense when Sakura's feelings for Naruto. Also one of our other forum members asked a Japanese friend who only has minor interest in Naruto and that person also stated Sai refers to Sakura's romantic feelings for Sasuke in the past tense, Naruto in the present tense.
I'm not much interested in endless circular arguments, they are a waste of time. When it comes to Sakura this thread goes into endless circular arguments, and I'm past my tolerance level. At this point I don't really care if some people cling to their overly negative images of Sakura- it doesn't have any impact on the far more positive canon Sakura Kishimoto is writing and speaks of in interviews.

Yes, by blowing my head gasket, I can still spell correctly. Funny.
And you'll agree with anyone, it seems. I'll say this again. Soupy is not being a negative nancy, she's just bringing up points using concrete evidence. Now if you want to run to ciardha's side, be my guest.
End of conversation. Have a nice day.
PM me if you want to continue this conversation.

Yeah I'm always agreeing with you although there are lots of NS fans on this forum they are people who well.....don't like Sakura much and they keep their negative thoughts around her. Running in circles won't help solve anything I do believe she has moved on from Sasuke, it will be crazy to still have romantic feelings after he tried to kill her twice. I mean come on who would love someone after he has tried to kill you twice??? if it was me there was no way I would look at that person the same even again nor I would still have any romantic feelings for her.
Pinkheartsyellowstars@ of course Naruto has given Sakura more gope that team seven can smile together again, she now has more faith in him. And to think they are some people that believe her thoughts weren't sorely on Naruto, I will leave it at that.
