hear hear... seriously tho, i've searched in the net for fanfics with NaruSaku and it's like searching for a needle in a LARGE haystack..

The most i've seen are S****S***, NaruH****, NaruS***. Sheesh...

I suggest reading the works listed under the NaruSaku FanFic listing. That's a good start. If you think my opinion is worth listening to, then I suggest you go to my FanFiction.net profile and read through my favorite authors list. That's some pretty solid work.

There are a few others that I could list. Yondaime-dono puts out good stuff, Red Crow is a must, Mizerable if you feel like turning off your logic center and reading something well written. red.junko is funny in an over-the-top sort of way. Girl-chama is brilliant, if she ever reposts 'East of the Sun.'

Thank you Alphabet, your praise has gone straight to my ego for processing. I never read 'Puppet in Pink,' because it looked awful just from the summary. Again, I can read 'Flower of Konoha' because I know I'm a better author than she is, and I must know how badly she butchers Itachi's characterization. I've read some very popular fanfics and found them to be fundamentally lacking in the plot or logic departments.
Examples include:
Logic-Eimii's 'Suriien' (not sure of the spelling)
Plot-The SOC Puppet's 'Bloodlines'
Logic and Plot-Mizerable's 'Wasted Years'
Everything-DameWren's 'Two Halves' (I think this is the title. The one where she teaches them to use chakra to clean the house.)

The first three are written so well that you don't really notice it until you sit down and think about it. I completely disagree wth Eimii on almost every point she makes about genjutsu, and I have stopped reading it because I don't approve of 'God-Mode'ing out Sakura. I think The SOC Puppet has completely missed the mark on his characterizations and I cannot stand Mizerable's ending for 'Wasted Years' because it's so implausible and the author heavily favors Sasuke. But they are worth reading because so few fics are written to this level of quality that we cannot afford to discard them. Not 'Two Halves' because it's another 'Learn from an uber-powered Self-Insert/Original Character' fic, and you know how much I hate those.

Next time, I'll take a shot at Mizerable's 'Wasted Years' but right now I have to wrap presents.

Oh and then there are the ones where they get drunk and Sakura get's pregnant by Sasuke thus enforcing S***S***.

Ok, maybe it was obvious for some people but i was reading ALOT of Shinji/Asuka fics recently and i dont know why lol.

Well today someone in the fics post posted this fic that is suppose to going to be either NaruSaku or N***H*** ..Here..

Well anyways, that chapter somehow maded me think that it like the whole Shinji/Asuka situation lol. Strange heh? The girl rejects the guy but at the end, she regrets it? umm wonder if that could happen in the real show. Well either way, we will see.

1) Iruka hates Naruto for housing Kyuubi and killing his parents
2) Kakashi blames Naruto for the death of his teacher
3) Haku kills Sasuke
4) Naruto looses to Kiba in the chuunin exams
5) Sakura dies at the hands of Gaara
6) Since Naruto is eliminated at from the chuunin exams, Neji stays bitter
7) Jiraya only trains Naruto because it was Yondaime?s dying wish
8) On the mission to find Tsunade, Shizune is killed
9) Tsunade reluctantly returns to Konoha as Godaime Hokage
10) Kyuubi, seeing his at corruption of his vessel as another means to gaining his/her (decide on a
gender) ?freedom? becomes Naruto?s teacher
11) Naruto falls into a deep depression and fakes his death
12) Kyuubi powered Kage Bushin is found dead with blood on his wrists and a red stained kunai
on the ground next to him
13) A note saying ?You?ve gotten what you wanted. The demon has been slayed.?
14) As Naruto secretly wanders the village, disguised by a powerful Kyuubi taught henge, he sees
the villagers and shinobi alike partying
15) However, Naruto notices that a certain raven haired, white eyed, Hyuuga heiress is not
present. On his way out of the village he sees Hinata crying under a tree.
16) Hinata is upset bout Narutos death but naruto decides its too late. he leaves

Thats where i wanted it to go but i dunno how to have ending, heh yeah it was gonna b N***H***, but id rather have HInata die (just in the fic!! I LOVE YOU HINATA-HIME) so its more dramatic, then Naruto gets all pissed n depressed n crap like that, maybe then killing himself and Kyuubi or sumthin like that

so basically Naruto gets completely f***ed over

yeah i know it shudnt b quick, ruins it most of the time, thats y i loved dave-d's fic "where eagles dare" it kept Naruto and HInata in character very well and it really takes its time b4 HInata is Naruto's special person

Has anyone here read all of Viz's translations of Naruto? I'm sad to say, that's how I got hooked on Naruto, since I get Shonen Jump every month (even though I shouldn't. . . ). Well, I don't like what they're doing. They're creating stupid names for all the attacks, being too liberal with their translations, and they seem to be ardent Sasu Saku and Naru Hina shippers.

Seriously. In their little character blurbs before each segemt every month, they say Sakura's number one goal is to get the love of Sasuke, and ninja training cannot compare to the power of first love, all while mentioning nothing of Naruto's crush on Sakura. They view Naruto's love as a shallow crush, having him call her 'hot stuff' and 'babe' and such. There's no mention of him actually, you know, falling in love with her, which is how Inane (and many others) interpret his actions from the start to now. It seems to be nothing more than superficial crush - all for her looks - and they even go so far as to twist certain scenes so that they're not NaruSaku anymore.

I'm not saying that they're out to kill the pairing, it's just that they need to start maybe translating the manga a little better. They seem obsessed with making Naruto (and many other titles) 'cool' and 'hip', while ignoring the fact that the majority of the Naruto fans don't like it that way. Damn Viz always rips people off.

Right. That does it. The Naruto manga is one manga I'm not buying. I don't care how much extra it costs me, but I'm gonna print it all out and stick the pages in a binder.

He is. He's crass, almost to the point of not being likable, and if there's anything to be said about Naruto, it's that he's a damn likable guy.

They also translate Shikamaru's 'troublesome' to 'pain in the butt', instead of using the actual translation, which is the preferred one (by far) by the fans.

And, of course, you can't forget translating Ino's technique into the 'Valentine' (do they not realize that Ino's father uses that attack?) and the Byakugan into 'Evil Eye', both being exasperating.

Very true... I saw in the Shonen Jump that they actually mistranslate some of the stuff just to make it more acceptable for kids instead of manga otakus. Some the sentences were like for kids in junior high... early junior high..

ETA - Oh yeah, can't forget Sakura lamenting about being shorthanded in the 'T&A Department'. I kid you not. That is how Viz translated it.
