You know, I have been thinking about the same thing and even talked about it with Morgaine about it and she can confirm it. As I was telling her, I am under the very strong impression Kishi is doing all this intentional. I don't know how to explain it clearly but I will try.

 

Like you said, in that JF interview back in 2010 (?) I think, Kishi was all suffocated with hate towards Sakura for her confession with  Naruto, how Sakura isn't a heroine and Hinata would be a better heroine, given all her character and the potential and the past and yadda yadda.

And Kishi at a certain point said that "You all say Hinata, Hinata! I [Kishimoto, the author of the manga who has a story set and knows what he's doing in his own story with his own characters] say she [Sakura] is NOT Hinata!"

 

At that time, Sakura's confession has just gone through and has just continued writing Hinata being a satellite for Naruto. I feel that in Pein Arc, Kishi kinda left an open trace on what to do with Hinata but after he saw all the hate Sakura gets because of a scene that supposed to be heartfelt [Sakura's confession] and because of a scene who shouldn't have impacted the plot so much, just to be done with that aspect of the character as well [Hinata's confession], he decided to switch perspectives.

 

And he's now portraying Hinata in a very bad way, like he's getting "revenge" on the people who told him all those things, on the people who sent him those nasty letters and whatnot. But in a way that they don't notice, in a way that it makes them stick even more, when he's actually just playing them and giving Sakura the spotlight she deserves, showing those fans that, like he said back then, Hinata is not Sakura.

And thus he creates scenes like this that show the total discrepancy between the two of them, Sakura and Hinata. Where Hinata could've been greater, given the potential she had as a char. in Pt. 1, Sakura takes the spotlight, because Sakura is the heroine and Sakura doesn't even compare to Hinata in importance in this manga. The plot revolves around 3/4 people: Team 7 and Kakashi.

The others are just characters that float around the plot in the hope they'd make a difference [except Team 10 , as Kishi has already expressed his feelings in regards to this team, he holds them very dear] and, additionally from what it seems, Karin because Kishi did gave her a connection to Sasuke.

And that is like to show everyone who bashes at Sakura for falling for Naruto that no, Sakura grew out of her love for Sasuke from Part 1, as he already foreshadowed back in Part 1 DB and no, Hinata doesn't holds the same importance as Sakura even though she's in love with the main character, the hero. That's all that she is. Period.

 

So now, as I said, I feel that Kishi, in a very sneaky and clever way, he's "taking revenge" and showing the real face of the manga, in conjunction with the pairings, that Sakura is going to be with Naruto, she is falling for him, no Sakura doesn't love Sasuke anymore and she might have never really loved him romantically, no Naruto still loves Sakura and yes, he considers her his girlfriend, no, although he received a confession from Hinata, it doesn't mean he has to, obligatory, reciprocate the feelings, and no, just because Hinata loves Naruto that doesn't mean she is Sakura or holds Sakura's importance in the manga.

And that they should respect him and his work, no matter who they prefer, as he already has expressed that each character is a part of him which means that when insulting Sakura, is like insulting him, especially since considering the level of endearment he has for her, and that they are not the writers, the characters are his and he is the one to decide what to do with them and how to write his story, not them.

 

So, yeah, this is kinda the impression that Kishi is giving me with the latest chapter and latest treatment of Hinata, to be honest.

And then she said about being able to surpass her master.

 

Which means, Sakura will sacrifice herself for Naruto, in a way, but with a very dangerous medical ninjutsu, something probably developed by herself, but maybe similar to Tsunade's jutsu [Sozo Saisei/Byakugo], but given she's supposed to surpass her master, she'll somehow cancel the drawbacks effects and she has surpassed her master in the sense of both saving the love of her life and in medical prowess as well.

OMG, YES! - hope it happens. xD

 

BRAVO Chatte BRAVO   you explained it beautifully perfect i couldn't explained  better myself even if i wanted to  . I mean with every panel Sakura and Hinata get together  you can just see the difference between those two one appears sincerely worried while the other appears utterly selfish , this is the reason i dislike Hinata he makes her appear as some kind of saint but in reality she is just as selfish as Sasuke in her goals she doesn't have the hearth of Naruto and Sakura it's that much obvious .

 

And HOLY JESUS is that translation for real , so it doesn't say protect those who are precious to you but protect the one who is most precious person to her as an individual , wow i have no words for this , this weekend keeps getting just better and better

I  do think we are being too desperate at this moment, not every interaction between Naruto and Sakura is NS evidence. We are playing at the level of NH, when in reality its not even one of the big 2. They take every interaction between the characters and thats cannon for them. But here in reality Sakura is just healing Naruto, being worried because yes he is very special to her. NS obviously didnt become cannon in this chapter, I dont know where NH sees anyone claiming anything like that. But guess what this is the perfect opportunity for something big to happen for NS, NH obviously dont get that.

BTW I see some theories like Hinata's words are some kind of foreshadowing that Neji's gonna appear to Naruto and tell him to go to Hinata i wonder if he's even aware of that Hinata "loves" Naruto since in 615 he put her sacrifice on the same level as everyone   . At most i can see it as if this is really a foreshadowing of Neji to appear to Naruto in regard to Hinata is to tell him take his role of protecting her as brother i really can't see the above happening when there is so much of foreshadowing for NS .

The curious thing about the set-up of Hinata and Sakura's feelings toward Naruto/each other is that while Hinata has never noticed Sakura's feelings for Naruto (while Sai has, and Ino has said Sakura's hiding her feelings (which means that they're transparent enough to both see them and see that she's hiding them), Sakura has always registered Hinata's feelings for Naruto. Every single time. Kishimoto makes a point of showing Sakura with her mouth open, in surprise, and with exclamation marks in the speech bubble. 
 
I just wonder if the end game for the relationship stuff will be Hinata finally seeing things clearly, that Sakura and Naruto have always cared for each other, meanwhile Sakura, who has always acknowledges Hinata's affection, mistakenly believes that to be where Naruto's heart lays, until he corrects her mistaken thoughts with a kiss on the forehead. *sigh*
 
Lastly, I agree, that hug was not platonic. Sakura has always done loving things for Naruto (hello, feeding him at the ramen bar?), but she's not pushed him into it. (Almost like she's scared since making such a big deal about Sasuke in her youth?) Anyway, that's one of the many reasons I put much more weight on her confession to Naruto. I think it reflected her honest feelings in the midst of a loaded request. Almost like, as she said it, she realized it was true. It always bothers me how some of the anti-Sakura crowd calls her a liar, etc., when she's been steadily building in her love for Naruto. The confession may not have been smooth as silk, from either of them, but I think the feelings behind it were honest. And I think Naruto saying in front of Minato that Sakura was more or less his girlfriend was an acknowledgement of the confession.
 
Now, it will be interesting to see how Sakura responds to Hinata's feelings. All she knows now is that Naruto did not return her affections then, at the confession, and there is someone else who is very interested in him now, whom he has been shown protecting as well. 
 
If something were to happen in the end that made Sakura think that Hinata and Naruto had feelings for each other, I can see Sakura hiding her feelings (as Ino has said), using her fake smile (as Sai has said), and stepping back to let their relationship grow. (Aaannnnddd then Naruto steps forward and plants that kiss on her forehead!!)

Ahhh that's something I've always imagined! That Sakura would think Naruto has feelings for Hinata, and stepping back. If something like that happens, my heart will break—and then it'll melt when Naruto corrects her mistaken belief. 
 

When did Ino label her love for Sasuke as perfect?? I don't remember such a thing. 
 
I'm really reminded of the UNIQLO trailer. What if, the first words that come out of Naruto is "Sakura chan"? 

He's referring to when Inoichi was leaving his final words to Ino, and he was talking about love and her friends... I love the post you made about that on tumblr, it's very enlightening.
 
And yeah, this situation reminds me of that, too. Ah, I hope he does say that! If that scene from the OVA happens...

I've seen that theory too, that Neji will appear to Naruto. I doubt it though, Neji isn't especially important to Naruto—I mean sure he sacrificed his life for him but lots of other people have... I don't know what he would say to him either.

I think i know what you mean it's the fact that NS are alone now no Hinata no one is going to interfere with them i see many are missing that in here and other forums , some of them are placing their hope in Neji .

Well, now that the Hinata bashing's died down, let's not try to deny it. It was happening in the earlier pages. Here's my 2 cents, although to be frank, one of James's posts encouraged me to share my thoughts.

 

It's kinda depressing to see Hinata's trip.  Despite how "narmish," or awkward that moment was, it's hard to laugh at it when it basically boils down to a person seeing her crush slowly die in front of her.  To add an extra dollop of helplessness, she trips trying to see if she can help.  That's just one more hammer blow to her, especially with someone of her low self-confidence.  

 

Yes, it seems like a joke, too far gone now, but it's just sad to see this happen to Hinata.  If Naruto did die, she'd probably never recover, as well.

Yes this so much of it . But what really irks me the most is how they make Sakura to be this total b*tch even some of her fans from the SS fandom , like Sakura would ever abandon Naruto because of Sasuke when she  already put Naruto's life before Sasuke's in the Kage Summit arc and she doesn't trust him now , not to mention that he attempted to kill her three times with no remorse what so ever , plus ever since Sasuke showed up her entire focus was on Naruto and his safety not Sasuke not even once , so i don't know what the hell are they talking about it's like they are stuck on the beginning of Sakura's character from part 1 they refuse to admit that she has changed so much from then and that her entire focus is on Naruto now , and this denial it's not coming just from some of the SS and NH fandoms but even from the Neutrals its just sickens me to see them how they are downplaying her development as a character and her relationship with Naruto . At least i judge Hinata's and Sasuke's character by what they have shown till now i don't hold them in the past that is all that should matter and what they have both shown is a unbelievable display of selfishness and some evilness from the other so i judge them by that cus Kishi choose to portray them like that that's all it should matter .

It seems that way, but the difference between us and them were the arguments. Our fanbase had legit examples and reasons to argue against the NH fanbase when 615 came out. Their fanbase however are trying to find excuses that don't make any sense to back up their arguments against us for this chapter.

Well i can't say for certain but for me it's mostly because of her character , her fandom has a very little role of my dislike to her , i dislike her because she's ridiculous , has a one track mind , forgets about those who are close to her just because of her crush ,idolization , admiration of Naruto and that gets her in more trouble not just her but also Naruto she does more harm to herself than help , with her it's only Naruto and no one else ,i mean what about your team who you abandoned in more then one occasion even in this chapter don't they matter also to you WTH , or is it just Naruto-kun , Naruto-kun , Naruto-kun it's like i'm watching an a Justin Bieber fangirl it sickens me to no end , for crying out loud she only tries to push/force her self in his life without any effort to find out anything about his feelings her love for him is nothing but sick , that's why i dislike her and i wish nothing more for her then to get over this stage of hers , the sooner the better i say .
