This. This time, it's more about the CCG part and in the prequel was us getting to know the ghouls. Its like he switched it up so we can get attached to these characters like we got attached to the ghouls before something upsetting happens

Pretty much. For many it's just hard to remember all the names or bring themselves to care about the majority of them. This time, it's more about the CCG part and in the prequel was us getting to know the ghouls. It's fine by me. I just go on wiki to get my memories refreshed. Don't really care about many of them on an emotional level, but I am aware of and acknowledge the overall relevance they pertain to the story. You don't get the feeling that they aren't just "filler" characters, like Take Hirako, who mysteriously holds some grudges against Arima, Takeomi Kuroiwa, whom Urie sees as his own personal rival, Taishi Fura, who was the MC in Tokyo Ghoul Jack and now gets reintroduced back into the story, or even Furata, who most likely used to go to the same college Kaneki went to. They all have their distinctive personality traits and quirky appearance trademarks (ironically, some of them look funnier than the ghouls like the dude with the humongous lips or Kijima). They aren't just "there" to fill on the CCG staff, but have their own objectives that somehow contributes or will contribute to the overall storyline. Gives you an idea what kind of place the CCG is that our MC worked for over the few years. Conspiracies, mistrust, backstories etc. come together and interwine and pretty changed the outlook we used to have on the CCG before reading :re. But reading this on a weekly basis, sorry, Ishida, but it's hard on the reader :/It will be harder if henchmen number 22 has a great relevant to the main plot. That's like making all OP characters in the world relevant. My brain will fried from that.
On a different sidenote, what really fries my brain right now are the chapters to the Dark Continent Arc in HunterxHunter... So much dialogue

Whisper *That will never come or at least take a long ass time*
See those names you just typed? I have trouble learning those names unless they come out a lot. If all of them do have a big part in the story and come out a lot then I probably will remember them.

Yeah, I understand. I just tend to go on wiki and look their names up, and after a while I remeber their names. Sometimes it's enough to just remember the faces though (as if we remember the names and techniques of everyone of Deku's classmates in Boku no Hero Academia or the ones of the kings and queens of the seven alliances in Magi).

But you know, thank god for Internet for info. I think I would have a hard time to remember names that are really hard to write (with all respect). Not here but rather other series that have to have longer than 8 characters.

When it comes to the Dark Continent chapters, it's hard for me to grasp everything on the getgoSo much dialogue? Try Bakuman. Lol.

Yeah, I think that's a big annoyance to many readers: the japanese names. Maybe it's just me, but most of the names aren't really memorable... Too many syllables, lol. Fugakichizumi or something like that, lol XD

So anyone notice that even with getting to know him, high ranking members still don't trust Kaneki? That's probably gonna be a plot point later.

Yeah. Some of them prob saw Sasaki loosing control of his Kagune like Koori Ui. Besides that, it's rumors and gossip that hurt Sasaki's reputation. So anyone notice that even with getting to know him, high ranking members still don't trust Kaneki? That's probably gonna be a plot point later.

Of course. It's Ishida. It's just that he's a ghoul, let alone Arima took him in, like why. Arima kills, not train them. Hell, he gave him a chance when he lost control, shouldn't he be like "Nope. Fail. Time to die."So anyone notice that even with getting to know him, high ranking members still don't trust Kaneki? That's probably gonna be a plot point later.
I say those points will be addressed later on. Perhaps the next arc.

The Quinx, Akira (motherly), Arima (people will kitten bricks), and Suzuya. Well to be honest, the highest chance are The Quinx and Suzuya, though I don't think he will leave CCG. I can see Akira feeling conflicted though I would hate that because she suffered enough. Is she going to lose a son figure as well? Arima will be interesting one. I feel like he's the closest one that he can connect to. I mean I can see him writing a will based on Sasaki if he were to stay around long. When that time comes, it'll be interesting to see who will support Sasaki.
