Because naruto doesn't know sasuke and sakura doesn't know chouji and shikamaru. And there are many academy students so I don't think one class is enough. Before becoming jounin kurenai is a teacher, so iruka is not the only teacher there.

I agree, that's why I said this is just my guess.

They are just kids at the beginning  of their academy days  you can't expect for all of them to act as buddies or to be shown that they all know eachother well  they are all shown together and that's enough . I'm not aware of Kurenai being a teacher before that so I'll take your word for it .  But here is the thing  this works for my statement  bc they are all shown under Iruka's  guidance  so they are under him since the beginning no other teacher is shown .

one would think the most important bond in this series wouldn't get thrown away like we haven't had to endure his sasuke pursuit for the entirety of the series. it hasn't been touched on at all like it never even mattered in the first place.

That's just show how bad and fickle bond in this manga is.
Bond only there for drama and naruto only giving kitten with his bond if they are in dangerous situation (garra, sasuke, sakura, Hinata) or dead (jiraiya).

Kishi's brother must be so ashamed of him right now :lmao:

I hope so lol it's literally like he took his brothers ideas, made them slightly more complicated and gave them to the Uchiha, just because his brothers manga is less well known. Honestly, I could even say that one of the Rinnegan abilities could be taken from Seishi's work...

Edit: even the face of the Gedo Statue/juubi looks like it's taken from Seishi's work.

Ok why are we even arguing the logic explanation. You want explanation? Ok fine. Naruto does Kage Bunshin no Jutsu in the first 5 minutes of the movie as a kid before chapter 1, and because of that the movie already acknowledge that it don't give a kitten about logic because they can't do kitten right! THATS IT!!!

I always liked Iruka and it really sucks that he got less and less relevant as the story went on. He's Naruto's first real bond (not Hinata-sama :wallbash: ) and his role in this canon movie is simply a genjutsu scene where he does nothing but give the stupidest assignment ever, for a class supposedly for ninjas. Seriously why would ninjas need to know who they would want to spend their last day on earth with? :twitch:

I mean, I heard what he said in the interview, about changing affections immediately would make her seem bad, but couldn't have started shifting her feelings after sasuke tried to kill her? You know, like the rational girl she was?

I thought it was already confirmed to be Orochimaru? Or is that for the Burrito movie?
