Well I'll give them a chance since the first pairing was rushed due to time span. Now, we know these characters, so hopefully, it's not rushed. Still, we have to wait and see.

For those complaining about the romance and how "focused" it was. Did anyone watch A:TLA? Aang's affections for Katara were a huuuuge portion of the series. Like Season 2 Episode 2 about the cave of two lovers. Don't confuse focus with timespan. A:TLA had 60 episodes to expand on other things. They went into Korra with the idea that they only would have 12.

I don't hate him. It's more like too soon. Maybe they could have done romance in season 2, then I will be good. But it all happened in one season, let alone 12 episodes. Like by episode 5, love square (?) already commenced. Why? Too soon and the real development happened in episode 3. 4 was about struggle with huge problem, which is Amon. So yeah, too soon. I can explain more, if you want me to.

I'd be completely lying if I said I liked Mako.  But in my defense I didn't hate him because I had a preferred ship...in fact I shipped both Makorra and Borra at first.

 

my problem is....

he dumped  a perfectly great, supportive girlfriend and left her when she needed him most and no matter how hard to try to look over that...I can't.

but I'm not gonna put all the blame on Mako...Korra was kinda a jerk also. (I don't care if she's a kick butt girl) 

she was being rude to Asami and Mako whenever they were together by making "faces" at them.

and she kissed Mako who was already in a relationship with Asami...

 

Korra has a bad rep for getting what she wants...

 

anyway, I wouldn't have minded Makorra if it made more sense.....

 

why does Korra like Mako?? why does Mako like Korra? he seemed happy with Asami, why did he just do that to her???

 

maybe if it showed Mako unhappy with Asami or her attitude then I wouldn't mind them breaking up.

 

.....all and all....the love killed it for me......it screwed up the main characters so bad.......and now here comes season 2...and Asami and Bolin are still feeling the burn.

 

I want to like them, but I can't unless they give me a reason too.

All of this can be answered with - teenage hormones. Seriously. Teenagers are not the most logical people.

Sadly, that's the truth or at least the answer to all. It's kinda like that one moment I didn't like from Kataang, but I can only slide by saying, "He's twelve, so yeah..." I can actually rant on why romance in this series was well, somewhat damaging. I'll explain later if anyone cares.

It seems many here dislike the idea of Bolin and Asami having a thing because that means they only got paired as the spares, and because it might be similar to putting NH/SS together.

 

I understand why that would come to mind but you have to understand that Korra is Korra and Naruto is Naruto. You can't judge the outcome of a story based on the ideas of a completely different one. The creation and development of the characters in those two series is completely different.

 

Don't already say something will be bad just because you have an emotional reaction towards concepts a completely different story. You never know, in the case the creators decide to put them together they could surprise us and actually make a very interesting storyline about how it could go down. One can only wait and see.

 

I hear that in the first episode Bolin became Asami's assistant, is that true? I can't imagine Bolin, of all people, going all corporate. XD

That said I can't wait for new season(s) because now we know they have all the time to do and already more than one new season planned, this means it's going to be awesome.

Yeah, I was always confused as to how little faith they had especially after how successful series one was. My guess is they didn't know how the general public would react to the protagonist being female. (doubters be dummies, all of them).

I'm concerned too. Ever since I learned Pierrot would be taking over some of it. With Naruto there's always been a good team and a bad team of animators/ artists. And while not every frame or episode had seemlessly awesome animation it wasn't always crystal clear when the teams would switch off versus Naruto where it was like... huh... yup, take a break team A.

That's cool! I'm jealous. She seems like a fun person in interviews. I want to meet her too. I keep saying I'm going to do San Diego Comic Con one of these years. Maybe I'll push and do it next year.

I just want korra to air so i can get my lingering feelings for naruto as a manga out of my mind Because lately its just a really stressful manga I pretty much lost passion for it both story wise and pairing wise.

 

When korra going to air in september 13th im going to be much more focused on that for two reasons one theres going to be an episode where it explains about the avatar origin.Two the plot might be interesting since its focusing on the spirit world we might get to explore more spirits,locations and aang!
