Got my textbooks yesterday; nooot looking forward to my English class. All three books for it are either about ecology or vegetarianism/fast-food markets and how they're baaaaaaad. Really not going to enjoy a writing/composition class that focuses on such topics, especially when it seems like the teacher is leaning heavily towards one side =_____=

On a brighter note, though, I ran into a friend of mine while on campus, and we ended up hanging out for a while. This resulted in her buying me Sherlock season 1 on DVD * O*~

I'll probably have to wait until Monday to watch it, but I'm just glad I own it! XD

In other news, there's an "awards show" for the local community theatre tonight that my family and I are going to. Gotta get all dressed up and such.

It was certainly...interesting, as it usually is. Lots of politics, awkward pauses, and touching "this is my second family" speeches.

Highlight of the evening was when my dad won the Best Actor: Adult award, for his stint as Harold Hill~

Well, at least they didn't take up a whole lot of time with their thank you speeches.

Mmmnope, they took up most of the time with video clips from last year's shows and having the casts perform a song from their respective shows instead.

Aaaaaugh first day of school: done.

And what an...uneventful day it felt like. Spent most of Sociology listening to the prof tell us aaaaaaall about her schooling. In. Great. Detail. Then went to PE and listened to the teacher explain where the locker room is; let us out an hour early. Then had to wait five hours 'til my next class--was lucky enough that a friend was around to pass the time with. Got to math at 6 (when the class is supposed to start), no prof in sight; classroom's packed. 6:10, still no prof. 6:20, still no prof. Finally, at 6:40, someone called up the office and asked what the deal was. Office says it's odd for this teacher to be late as she's apparently really reliable. They send someone down, we all sign our names and ID #s, and leave.

My day felt so freakin' long and now Tumblr's not working and I'm tempted to just collapse into bed but I've gotta get my things together for English tomorrow and gaaaaaaah.

/sigh To think I was all excited for school to start up again. Guess I'd forgotten how much the first week back always sucks lol

Fuuuuu school's already making me tired and it's only the third week.

What's gone on since I last posted:

• great-grandmother passed away a couple weeks ago
• cleaned the house she and Great-grandpa shared
• went to her wake
• got my first ditch of the semester over with lol
• turned in my first essay of the semester
• started re-reading The Hobbit
• made my friends look at me funny 'cause I only JUST learned that The Hobbit movie was happening (they heard about it months ago I guess....)
• got another friend into Sherlock; have been giving her rides to school most mornings--enjoy fangirl-y discussions the whole way

And that's about it. School's been keeping me on my toes; most of my free-time (between homework, classes, and family stuff) has been dedicated to sleeping and checking Tumblr.

(Though I'm working my way through the books themselves, and I've seen both of the RDJ movies and have a few of the older versions on stand-by... I'm kinda trying to get through as much "Sherlock Holmes" stuff as possible~)

Oof. I have one of those headaches you get when you sleep at weird times, or try to sleep with wonky lighting. I blame it on my cat waking me up at 8am, which prompted me to roll over and try to sleep again even with the sun sorta in my eyes. Yup. Totally my cat's fault.

I'm glad I don't have to worry about that since I don't own any pets, and probably never will until I get out of the house.

Oh the series. Is it good? I find the main character playing Sherlock weird looking.

Haha, yes, it took me a while to get used to Benedict Cumberbatch's face too XD I still don't find him super attractive, but I definitely find his face interesting.

I love the show--I like the way they explore the relationship the characters have, their personalities, motivations--and the way things are shot, too. It's very visually appealing, I find~ And it has a generous dose of humor mushed in with some suspense at the ends of both series.

On one of the school computers at the moment, sitting with a friend 'til my 6pm class. I've managed to catch a bug from someone somewhere--I've had a miserable cough and chest-ache for the last three days, and today my body temperature's started going wonky. Makes me worry I've got a fever headed my way.

But! At least I have just the one last class for the day, and then I'm done for the week. I plan to sleep loooooooots tomorrow and then relax with a friend while watching movies~

Also definitely think some tea is in order tonight when I get home X)
