yahiko=naruto because they both have dreams to destroy hatred and keep the world at peace

nagato=sasuke cause they both lost things that were important to them, which caused them to go crazy (the eyes!!)

Did Sakura side with Sasuke like Konan did with Nagato? Nope, she sided with Naruto, the boy who was opposite against revenge. Naruto had his parents die for him, but with friends and a sensei like Jiraya, got over it, which, for Yahiko however, had a great sensei like Jiraya, but wanted to kill him. And for what purpose? Just to get his plan in action, which I would call "destroy everyone so the world would be rid of this cursed hatred". That is somewhat like Naruto was going to be aiming at if Iruka didn't save Naruto and say he was sorry. Nagato was talked to by Naruto, and changed his opinion, which for in Sasuke's case, didn't change his opinion.

I would say that the 3 of them are completly different if you look at it hard enough, and if they are the same, then who cares, its not like Konan loved Nagato more than Yahiko or something.. remember the 3 of them was all that they all had.. and they loved each other as any person with nothing but 2 other friends running from danger would love. When Yahiko died (at like 12) they had to carry on, as for team 7, they never lost someone from death.. they just lost Sasuke. So the only way for them to say they connect, is to call Yahiko the Sasuke.

i wouldnt call sasuke the yahiko.....cause their case is what WOULD have happened if naruto died. so they turned out different :T

if nagato died im sure it would be more similar to what team 7 is now.

I don't know, this just brings more downside than upside and sometime when events between two people happen, I rather prefer if both get the good end of it, as oppose to one person getting really praised and all of that, and one person getting the, what I would like to call it, the butt end of it.

Sure if you want to, but I'm still getting adjusted over the whole comparison of Titanic's Jack and Rose to NaruSaku, but you know, anything and everything could be compared to something in other series, movies, etc.

Heck, I'm sure Naruhina is compared to something else outside of the Naruto series, except that the comparison pairing may be better built, have better interactions, and better chemistry than Naruhina. If Kishi wanted a friken rival pairing, how come he could not build it better then, other than the fact that he does not care about this as much as most of the fandom does?

As for sasuSaku, hmmmmm, no idea what's similar to this in other series, movies, games, etc.

I'd agree, but for different reasons. I simply don't think Kishimoto is going to kill anyone of consequence from that generation.

He has yet to do so and despite numerous opporunities they always survive. Chouji, Hinata, Neji, Gaara, Karin, Lee (though it was a career ending injury not a fatal one). That's a pretty consistent trend.

I am personally convinced that no pairings will happen in the end (I think chances are very high that Sasuke and Naruto will both die as Naruto hinted), if one 'pairing' were to happen I would actually put my money on NaruHina, here is why:

Since the kage summit arc Kishimoto is done with raising more questions. He is rounding things up, so time to give the readers the answers.
NaruSaku - a pairing I see as a red herring - is finished off in this arc (IMO), with the simple fact that, Kishimoto has shown us:
- Sakura realizes that Naruto is the better 'man' but she is still not capable of loving him romantically despite everything that happened (as shown recently)
- Naruto's feelings have (started) being addressed with Sai confessing them to Sakura (and she is still not loving him, mind you)
- The promise of a lifetime is officially lifted, with Naruto even going as far as saying that it does not matter to him wheter said promise still stands or not
- Yamato's reaction to the confession further shows that the scene from ch. 297 wasn't meant romantically (meaning: red herring)
- Naruto's reaction to the confession was also very interesting. He notes that it is a lie and that she loves Sasuke, a weird thing to come from someone who is still pursuing her seriously

—> conclusion: Naruto's feelings have been confessed, Sakura has shown a reaction to it (a negative one) and Naruto knows that he is not where her romantic feelings lie and Sakura knows that Naruto knows it and continues loving Sasuke.

This arc however, the following things have happened that might be used for NaruHina IF a pairing is to happen:
- When Naruto saved her, a clear difference was shown between Sakura's reaction and Hinata's reaction
- And in my opinion, this is to me the most hardcore thing that could be seen as a hint: them saying the exact same lines about reading what is in their eyes. To me it was the first romantic scene in the whole manga between a non-canon pairing.

I'm quite confident that Naruto's feelings towards Sakura and Hinata will be addressed very soon, and this will tell us wheter Kishimoto is planning to make NaruHina canon or to make no pairings canon at all...Cause that is how I see it: either NaruHina (alone) becomes canon or none of the big 3 happen.

^^ Hello new guy, pleasure to have you in this debate, we could always use more adversities in this forum/subforum and I understand that you think that its either Naruhina or nothing, while most of us here are convinced that its NaruSaku or nothing.

And I haven't read your post thoroughly yet, so and I've been saying this lately that no pairings are canon with a Naruto and Sakura conversation on where their life might be in the future, one on one, with no interruptions, etc (don't know if you addressed this yet), so yeah, it's just a waiting game to see where this goes.

But yes, its a pleasure to have you here and that the door is always open to this thread.

I'm sure a good amount of people here that has a clearer mind than me can dissect that post better than I, since I got a shaky mind atm.

You mentioned how NS was finished off in this arc. I still don't see how. If anything, NH was finished off by Hinata finally getting her acknowledgment from Naruto.
There was nothing harcore that happened to finish NS off. It's still got more ground to stand on then any of the other pairings do - especially NH, which has near no development. Hinata got her acknowledgement from Naruto, and Naruto made it pretty clear to Sai, and Sai made it pretty clear to Sakura, that Naruto is still in love with Sakura.
