The more I think about it, the more I am convinced Kishimoto tried to sabotage his manga. I just have this funny feeling that he wanted NS to be together, but in some way shape or form they told him he couldn't. I strongly believe Kishimoto purposely made the last chapters suck because he wanted Naruto to end by his hand and not continue in someone else's where it could be butchered. This would explain why everything end so badly.

I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but for some reason I can't bring myself to think Kishimoto would do this to his own manga on freewill.

He wanted to show that SS and NH were a terrible coupling, but his editors or someone made him do it anyway. It is not the first time I have seen this happen. Maybe someday we will know the truth, but now...

 

This reminds me of Tomino and Gundam Victory, and I want to believe this is what happened.  Some believe NarauSaku is what he meant in a RTN interview about doing something he wasn't able to do in the manga.  Also, why he changed Naruto's design last minute with the haircut would make more sense if this is true, as a show of change that "this isn't the Naruto we've come to know."

 

still pissed about this ending. like how could you kitten up that badly?

that last sentence. That is exactly it. Too much of one thing is good for nothing. Even too much selflessness can be bad. I refuse to blame any of this on sakura, and I'm not just saying this just because I'm a sakura fan. Naruto should have told her how he felt.As much as i hate ss, at least Sakura had the courage to go after what she wanted. Naruto should have been a little selfish and told her anyway. ..just for closure. But honestly i think the blame has to go on kishi for writing him in this way

Well he was bound to get rejected if had done so. I mean 15 years didn't change her and Sauce becoming an S rank criminal mean kitten to her. She clearly wasn't going to let go.

Well obviously now... but not if you throw out Kishi destroying his lifes work. Lets just say 699 does still happen though, but then we get the real characters next chapter, not only could it make Sakura see the error of her ways, but it also proves just how dedicated Naruto was

Except I'm not saying that he should confess hoping that she would return his feelings. He should confess because then it gives closure and makes it easier to move on. Surely he could just tell her he was confessing for that reason and that he's not trying to pressure her in any way. And I edited my post by the way. None of this is really Naruto or Sakura's fault. It's Kishi's.

I really don't want a 699 though. It completely destroys Sakura's character, Naruto just stands by and ignores what he told Sai, and Sasuke suddenly develops feelings for Sakura. And then Sasuke shows that he is the true main character of naruto by taking over the narration of what everyone in the manga has been searching for.
