Yes, there was a spike in activity here.
If you want to know the numbers from NF or NB, then go there and ask a mod. They'll be glad to tell you. Demanding accurate numbers from members here is unfair and pointless. They aren't mods there, so it will always be conjecture. If you want to discuss stats with absolute certainty, then it's up to you to go to those sites and find it out.
Agreed. If someone wants a general idea outside of direct contact with mods try this. The Wayback Machine. It's not perfect, but it's the best your going to find without direct contact.
Picking a date at random I choose September 20th 2012. The grand total of people online at that time was 2352 the majority of which were guest. To compare this to early times in February 2nd 2004 the number of people online was 116, 60 members and 56 guest. From what I've seen once the story caught on NF usually has between 2 and 3 thousand views on average. Members visiting have declined as well as guest views.
Those aren't absolute numbers, just a set of snapshots. You want a pie chart your going to have to do what tricksie recommended.
From a personal standpoint activity in the fanclubs have fallen from what I can see.
The next time you guys want to argue about such stuff though you guys can try getting your own facts. lol
From what I can see evidence overall has stayed the same. The Last has been unpopular in Japan by in large. When it comes to the west the fandom has been divided, and the people who have stayed are the hardcore NH/SS fans. I have yet to see any measure of what can be called true success with what Kishimoto and SP have done. They failed to surpass or match the numbers of over movies in the same genre (Both DBZ and One Piece made considerable more), despite being the end they haven't matched the number of sales as far as the manga goes compared to contemporaries, and the anime still isn't cracking the toped watch Animation in Japan.
At this point the best that Kishimoto/SP defenders can point to is that they did better compared to their past, which we honestly don't know if that's true or not, since it has been hinted at that the cost for the Last is considerably more then the average Naruto film without even taking into account advertisements and distributions.
