1) Naruto wasn't making a joke. At most when he says she's more or less his girlfriend it's his way of saying they have something going on but it's complicated.
2) In the raw version of 632 he says something like "never defying her again", which is only meant to be reminiscent to how he said something similar the first time Sakura showed her power at the beginning of Part 2. It seems Naruto got used to her super strength as the series went on, but now that Sakura upgraded to titan strength Naruto makes his vows again, which he'll probably break anyway.
3) If Naruto was meant to use Jiraiya's words here then he would joke about being rejected by Sakura. Naruto did the complete opposite here by saying there's something going on between them.
4) And after Jiraiya said those words he still attempted to confess to Tsunade anyway because even though he can joke about her rejecting him he still would've wanted her to be with him.
This ain't rocket science.
I completely and utterly agree with you , but the problem is they still think NS is dead because :
-Sakura loves Sasuke and will never love Naruto
-Sakura lied about loving him during her confession to him
-Naruto doesn't love Sakura anymore, he loves Hinata .
They don't listen and repeat that like a broken record ..
Neji died and he learned that he cant save/protect all his friends he must do his best to protect them if he fails he has to keep them on his heart.
About the hokage thing, he said the ones who get acknowledged became kage, Sasuke dying or not wont change that.
The third, it's kinda difficult for them but if Sakura already moves on, then what would happen?
She can either became single just like Tsunade, if she already loves Naruto she just need to adress it before Sasuke dies or show that she already loves Naruto before that.
SHe has development to move on, Sasuke returning or being saved wont make up for the bad things he did to her, the fact is that Sakura is being receiving reality checks on her love if it's worth to love someome like Sasuke who did nothing to her or love a great guy.
Sasuke becoming a wanderer ends up the same thing, but there's the promise but Sasuke "come back" and Sakura wish to have them together already got fullfilled on 631.
But sincerely i fail to see how bringing Sasuke back would help NS in a way.
I mean there's no interactions on SS, Sakura got all the development she needs and even is aware of Naruto's love for her, the reality checks and how Sasuke displayed thoughout the story that he doesnt love her and even going further in trying to kill her.If there's an SS interaction where she moves on which obviously has to do with rejection, will make Naruto a second option.
So i do believe Sakura will adress her feelings before or during Naruto x Sasuke not later.
Agreed. From 615 he learned two things ; first as you said you can't save everyone , so you have to accept their death/s and keep them in your/his heart , second that all of the shinobi's lifes are ''connected'' to his .
Bolded: The POAL is still in play and he ''came back'' on his own , so i still have some doubts that Naruto has let go of the promise , just the solidest . So that may be an obstacle or a bump on the road.
Bloded#2: True , but they both still care for him deeply regardless of on what level are those feelings,so maybe she wants him back ,but then again her smile in 635 may speak otherwise falsely .
Bloded#3: Let's hope so, as you said he is still close minded of her affection, so in order to make him believe she would have to show it in front of Sasuke .
