Honestly 10 chapters is enough for the Naru/Sasu fight. You guys expect a DBZ length fight like 30 chapters? Really 12 chapters will be the max for the fight. I see no reason for Kishi to make the fight so long.

Lots of flashbacks can be extended to 20 chapters.

with the arsenal naruto and sasuke have right now? No.
I think it will goes three volume.
just like what luffy say, there will be talk, fight, flash back, talk, fight, and end with rasengan vs chidori.
this is the ultimate battle of this manga.

Kishi can end the manga by chapter 700. Ten chapters for the Naru/Sasu fight and probably to make NS canon. The movie can be a long epilogue so it won't matter how he ends the manga.
Wow that is a terrible idea.
Fingers crossed on there being another story arc after this. 10 chapters doesn't seem like nearly enough time to have the climax of the series, deciding on what to do with Taka and tying up all the political loose ends an kitten. I'd rather have a decent ending than a rushed one. We've come this far, why kitten it up?
I can honestly say that I don't see this manga having well over a 10 year lifespan just to get its conclusion in a movie.

I guess people are really banking on 100th chapter because...I don't know. To be honest, it's annoying.

Yes he can wrap everything within 10 chapters. There is plenty of time.

Boy, the movie countdown and what's going on really create an illusion, like perhaps it all lines up to it or perhaps it will still be like, "Eh, we will go there, but we got small parts to clear out first." Sheesh, don't cause a delay, because skip a week, they may tell Kishi, "Hey, cut one chapter plan," and he'll be like, "But this one I have Naruto outsmart Sasuke. If I cut down this one, it will look one sided from Sasuke to Naruto." I mean god knows you must be clear before the movie. I don't know, I'm a little bummed about this.

I doubt the NvS fight (something the entrire series has been hinting at and building up to) will be shorter than the Kaguya fight, on top of that there are still several other issues that can't exactly be wrapped up in the course of a few chapters.
I don't see why people are so against there being an epilogue story arc.

Well, true. For me, I just don't want to think the movie is a way to tell Kishi scrapped things and head to it, hence my post about skipping a week equals scrapping a work. Shoot, he should go heel and skip three months of work. I bet they will be like, "That smile from Hagoromo. Yes, that was your end. Enter new ERA!"

Why not? they did have a little showdown when they first met after the timeskip and at the Kage summit, I don't see why their final fight has to be even longer than the Kaguya one. I honestly want it to be settled once and for all.

Well, the odd thing is that Naruto isn't Hokage in The Last. I feel like it should come down not immediately before he becomes one but more like the deciding factor has arrived. Won't it be odd just to have Naruto beat Sasuke and they just tell him, "Congrats, but you can't be Hokage, so yeah..."

I agree with you, it would feel rush if the fight only goes for ten chapter or a volume. Unless one chapter is a volume like fma last chapter.
People tired with naruto so they want to end it right away.
For me, I want a satisfy ending. If the manga goes too long I will drop it.
Or we just need not to follow it on weekly basis.

Considering that Sasuke is already not going to destroy Konoha he is already half-way on the road to recovery and Naruto didn't have to do anything.

Neither of which was really a showdown. The first was more of Sasuke showcasing his skills to Team 7 the latter was more of a build-up to NvS, honestly we could have had it there and it would have made alot more sense. Still this is a fight where Sasuke plans on recreating the whole shinobi world, on top of that its a fight where both of them well end up killing each other and the final battle of the series. Plus Naruto and Sasuke still have another power-up to go, Naruto would need both halves the bijuus and Sasuke needs the other sharinnegan...which Kaguya got sealed with so i dont know how Kishi plans on giving him the other one.
Plus as pointless as it is Kishi apparently is planning for there to be a political confrontation between them to parallel with the Hashi/Madara flashback and Hiruzen/Danzo

No, naruto still need to beat him up and show who's the boss and praise itachi than tnj him, aka naruto vs sasuke fight.Considering that Sasuke is already not going to destroy Konoha he is already half-way on the road to recovery and Naruto didn't have to do anything.

Though 50% from one man is a lot than Itachi, Hashirama, yourself on your (Halo Reach voice) REVENGE path, and well, reflect the memory with Team Taka. So yeah...

And this all assuming Sasuke's intentions are evil at all. What if he is already a "good guy" and really is just a natural jerkass?

No he's not good, not yet. Itachi even said "I won't be the one to change you" before disappearing.
Also we can already confirm that his intentions involves killing Naruto to "erase the past" and tearing down the shinobi system, both of which everyone aside from Taka will have a problem with.
