Hey, luffyq1. I remember you always doubting Kishi since I got here. At what arc would you say that you gave up yet continue to follow?

They are overrated by some of their fans, mainly SnK, TG is not that overrated, its fanbase is a lot more grounded. However SnK introduced many people to anime, and so a lot of this new people go on thinking "Wow, SnK is the best ever, nothing can compare to it" , and this isn't true. 
 
This is kinda like what happened with Naruto too, many people who began waching anime thanks to Naruto are partial towards it and just can't accept the story turned to kitten.

Welcome to fandom. I admit despite that I knew the flaws of Naruto, I had fanboyism in me. It was my first time being one outside of Halo, which I still acknowledge the flaws. The ending was my wake-up call. My friends already moved on and pretty much doing what we are doing today: laugh at it.

Me too. All my friends were already giving up on Naruto at the Kage Summit arc, we got some hope with Pein but Kage Summit arc shattered those. 

But not me

 

I stayed till the war arc, I persisted and persisted till I literally forgot about it because things were looking so ridiculous and nonsensical (LOL), came back only in the kaguya arc for closure

We haven't discuss Naruto in a very long time. We started again when we talked about the plot twist that ended up being Kaguya. He wasn't happy. Lol. I remember my days here where I have to fight it for everyone, but more and more keep on coming. My main line is "time will tell." Patience is the key. But Naruto wasn't in it. It was an illusion of hope that I put me and others who still want good things from Naruto. I think my hardest defense that I gave up trying was Kakashi getting the eyes. Pretty much, I was like that ninja guy from Ninja Gaiden review by AVGN: keep spouting bs to make it seem like the player is the one at fault.

Ditto, same here. What I care about in a manga is simply the entertainment value first and foremost. There are enough movies that are far from being original- but people still watch it. If you don't enjoy the mainstream- that's ok. But mediocre is sometimes a really subjective statement in my eyes.

exactly ! A plot may lack originality, but the author can add his personal touch to it, and turn it into something better and original !  and in another situation, a plot can be really original, maybe too much, and if the author doesn't know how to control it and all... It is all about how the author write and treat his characters ...

Now, if someone doesn't like it or not, it's a matter of taste ...

Ahh yeah, I understand what you're trying to say and I agree with you...most of us said that about when we started watching it...that's why we love it so much ! But then, we learnt that we had to try other mangas to start comparing one with another, and being more objective about all this (even though most of the time we aren't )

You know, I was reviewing chapters at the time and when that part happened, I was like "......eh???" I didn't like that. Luckily, the next chapter helped, but still, come on...Then the next arc is downhill mania.

Yes, I too wonder if that is going to come back to haunt NS fans. They may very well write Sakura as downplaying her feelings for Naruto in favor of Sasuke, and then saying Hinata is so good, she deserves Naruto. It becomes a way to give Sakura what she supposedly wants, while at the same time putting her down. It makes Sakura look like the fickle girl who would string Naruto along, and makes Hinata look like innocent. 

 

I figure, in the novel, they are either going to skip over Sakura's feelings toward Naruto just like they've dropped feelings for her without a second glance. Or they are going to have her weighing the two against each other and choosing Sasuke because she's loved him the longest, and paralleling that with Hinata's love for Naruto.

 

From the tone of the movie, Sakura saying that she and Hinata have to help each other, I have a sinking feeling it's going to be some version of the latter.

 

 

Espcially since we know that Sakura was the only one who was actually bullied. Not Hinata, the clan princess. Sakura was bullied, and Naruto was sad and alone. And we know Sakura recognized/acknowledged Naruto when they were children. She is shown in the manga as being concerned for him when he was fighting Sasuke, even as everyone else continued to cheer Sasuke on. She is the only one who looks worried. 

 

They took the backstory that should have been Sakura and Naruto's and awarded it to Hinata instead, making it completely unbelievable that the princess of the most powerful clan in Konoha would be left by herself and bullied. This backstory would have brought Naruto and Sakura's heaven-and-earth relationship full circle.

 

Sakura was the one who was bullied because of her forehead. Naruto was the one who instigated the bench scene where he points out that her forehead is the thing he notices about her, that it's beautiful and he would like to kiss it. This means that he knew enough about her to know she was teased for it. And she changes in that moment by feeling ok about it, even loved for it. This all parallels Kushina and Minato's relationship with the one thing she is self-conscious about being the one thing Minato loves most about her. 

 

It was never supposed to be NH. The childhood connection was set up for Naruto and Sakura, and reinforced over and over again through the course of their lives. In the end, it was just awarded to Hinata instead. 

 

No wonder Kishimoto looks depressed in all the pictures. He knows he gave his story away.

Also you can say the same for SS (though that's all bc the result of the NH kitten) they also took a part of the NS back story  with the "Almighty Forehead Poke of Ultimate Expression of Love"    There was no foreshadowing  or was ever been hinted  for that kitten with SS that was clearly our Bench Scene moment   The only thing that SS had foreshadowed/hinted  was  abuse , insults , belittlement and human degradation  The fact that both of this kitten parings need to steal moments from NS only proves how much developed and deep their bond/relationship was and it was a core part of the story , how can NH/SS satisfy themselves with this is beyond me  but then again  self inserted delusion and hypocrisy has always been a part of their charm         

He waited for Hinata hime sama to have more than 18 years old...you know, because you can't love someone or go out with someone before (or Idk what Kishi exactly said ) 

So let me get this straight , Its OK for MK and other parings  to know love at age under 18 Its perfectly fine for women mainly Sakura , Hinata to know "love"  but when it comes to Naruto the freaking MC  he knows kitten and is shallow as kitten bc Boys don't know what love is right !?  Sexist BS at its best .

When was Kushina portrayed as a Housewife !? She didn't even had the time for that as she died after giving birth   . If anything take a look at RTN  in there she was a loving mother and a wife , an housewife  and still an Active Shinobi who went with Minato on missions even after having a kid  LOL . Its so ironic that same men who made this movie also did this freaking ending  kittening ridiculous

I can't even count how many they are till now   .

 

Correction  its not a mediocre story its an useless waste of ink and paper  with its only purpose now as a toilet paper to wipe your ars and I wouldn't  recommend it even for that bc of its toxic content  you may get  your ars infected or suffer from constipation  .

Don't even say it, at the time Pein was wrecking everything I was like "man this is going to change the manga completely ..." but then Kishimoto had to take that Rinne Tensei thing out of his ass, I mean, why didn't Nagato used it when Yahiko died?

Well, I did see it but I was going to guilty pleasure it by giving it like a thumbs up. I was so convinced that Sasuke will be taken care of in the next arc. Then...the announcement happened. While luffyq1 was celebrating, many of us here if not all all thought one thing:

The funny part is in my defense, I was saying Nagato learned it late and you need Yahiko's body to proceed. Then Naruto All Stars arc happened and pretty much said that you can do it at any time. So out of loop. Not to mention, did we even see that thing come out and ressurect people. I only recall seeing Obito doing hand seal and that's it.

That's something to think about, I never even got even a second of thinking that ending will be so horrible, there was 2 "bad" endings in my view, Naruto would sacrifies his life (even taking Sasuke with him) and that would be horrible, but in general it would be realistic way to stop circle of hatred I wonder what Sakura would do if she saw them both dead. Or Naruto winning but both Sasuke and Sakura dies, and ending would be in a way of Yakura 1 for PS2 was.
