A little overrated by some of its fans? Yes

 

You misunderstood me, I'm intrested in reasons of that popularity, there is alot of medicore storys.

I have tough time finding anything worthy in seinen nowadays, maybe some examples?

Because SnK use formula of old horroror movies/games.

 

So what if he took inspiration from those? Every story has to come out fresh from the author's mind?...besides if you are accompanying the series you can clearly see things are not as simple as humans vs titans

originality is hard and there are plenty of stories before snk that have used the same formula. sometimes it's a miss and sometimes it's a hit.

Well, it is, I saw nothing intrested in there, only lol'd at Sasha. Not intrested in story at all. But it's ok, even intresting for those who like it, I guess, due to it's popularity, and I mean no harm of telling what formula author uses. Because last time I saw something worthy with it, it was heavily covered with ecchi. So I'm intrested in seinens that is good right now.

Just because it's not original doesn't mean it's bad or whatever. HTTYD taught me that. Overrated can occur easily, but it won't stop me from liking it. I bypass seeing that. I will acknowledge it and if I do like it, then I'll stay. If not, oh well.

It's pretty much impossible to be original nowadays. Artists are always borrowing, to varying extents, from those that inspire them and their work.

i like that naruto and sakura argued, it was one of the highlights of their relationship that i like. now with that being said, i think sakura's confession was one of the dumbest things i've read in this series. i'm not saying what she did was entirely stupid, because she made valid points that naruto should be more concerned about himself instead of sasuke. but sakura laid out all the reasons why she should not love sasuke anymore. she said it herself:

now with all of that in mind, i have to ask myself why does kishi label this as love? it's clearly not love if she's pointing out the glaring flaws of her relationship with sasuke. i don't think sakura knows what love is and she never did. what sakura feels is infatuation, not love. that's why i believe that naruto is a good example to talk to her about this stuff. naruto has experience all types of love, so who better to tell her that she doesn't understand love. 

I completely agree with you  couldn't have said it better myself XD .  I loved that part about the confession to bc it made the couple look realistic even more so bc the build was already there . The part that was ridiculous about this confession is that it was rushed and focused more so on Sasuke issue then her feelings about Naruto  .

 

About the other part  that's exactly why I was so much looking  forward for Naruto's confession bc it was freaking "foreshadowed"  , for Naruto to tell her why he loves her , how much he values/appreciate her  , to tell her how strong and beautiful she is even with her flaws  , to tell her that he loves the part that she hates the most about herself . Naruto's confession should have solved all those things and make Sakura realize  what true love is all about bc she obviously had a misconception about it from the start  as well as with some other things which she was gradually starting to learn by seeing Naruto's actions first hand  bc Naruto was her inspiration since the beginning and was pushing her to better herself by watch him working hard and fighting for the people he loved . But making Naruto into a shallow piece of kitten by using and playing with  person's feelings stripping him from all if his character traits in the end is not a mark of an hero but a freaking scumbag  and its not better then any of the villains traits sign .

 

Now what Kikitten did in the end is ridiculous bc he completely retconed all of the points you just listed and from a literature point of view it makes no freaking sens to count that as love  it only confirms the status of SS as an abusive piece of kitten  and a  BWS case  , its disgusting . But I'm also pretty sure that SS wasn't planed and happened only bc of NH to get Sakura out bc he said he had no kittening clue how that kitten happened nor did he gave a kitten . But still to twist your story so much to destroy all of your plot points and break every writing rule  just for the sake of popularity and gaining profit to sell yourself to  rabid otaku shipping fans  is not the mark of a writer , its an disgrace for every writer who the pen in hand  for the sake of telling a story and conveying his message ,  what makes this of Kikitten is a freaking "Money Seeking Grabbing Whore" and should never be allowed to write ever again  this men horrifies me and disgusts me to no end ugh !!!      .

I feel that way too sometimes.  I feel badly because I feel that my certainty might have persuaded some people to hang on for something that ended up not happening.  I wasted a lot of time and effort defending Kishimoto and believing he had a plan.  Shame on me.  

I don't think you should. I still think Part 1 was legitimately good. That it feel apart later doesn't mean the initial decision is wrong.

Being medicore - is nothing bad, and it's only my opinion. About ecchi, I didn't mean SnK, I mean last time I saw using story telling as people are doomed and cornered, was in HOTD that had ecchi in it, lol

Many good things to author of SnK for staying true to his ownd ideas.

Yeah, it's overrated, maybe because it's a new concept (y'know, titans...) just like TG ! I love both of these mangas, but we all can see that even though the concept is original, both have a lot of points in common with other mangas ! 

but even though they are overrated mangas (imo), they still are good and better mangas compared to other mangas ! Maybe we all became more picky now...

It's not medicore at all, Pre war Naruto would be considered by that, but with all the hype to an ending, kitten is still kitten, 15 years of story, and resolution is 2 kitten pairings without any build up. Not taking last and other kitten in count, that's money grabbing at best.

I can see what you mean now. It's rather funny that 5 out of 10 is considered average, which to me doesn't sound that bad. It's like "when it stops getting good." Lol. I guess you can say good or great isn't used that loosely in here. Good would be 8 out of 10 for people here nowadays. But that's why I don't use number score.

Take off Kage Summit arc and beyond from the story and Naruto's  a pretty promising, average shonen. 

Put Kage Summit and war arc with the rest and you have a mediocre story. 

 

War arc asspulls, retcons and characters's flaws simply erased everything that part 1 (Naruto's best part ) standed for. So yeah, if we talk separately then you can say " part 1 was quite good, early part 2 too..." but if we look at Naruto as a whole then it is pretty mediocre indeed

Ditto, same here. What I care about in a manga is simply the entertainment value first and foremost. There are enough movies that are far from being original- but people still watch it. If you don't enjoy the mainstream- that's ok. But mediocre is sometimes a really subjective statement in my eyes.

They are overrated by some of their fans, mainly SnK, TG (manga) is not that overrated, its fanbase is a lot more grounded (I think) . However SnK introduced many people to anime, and so a lot of this new people go on thinking "Wow, SnK is the best ever, nothing can compare to it" , and this isn't true. 

 

This is kinda like what happened with Naruto too, many people who began waching anime thanks to Naruto are partial towards it and just can't accept the story turned to kitten.
