Do you have proof of that interview? The only place I've heard of that is from some user on here.

And, he didn't say that his wife has the same personality as Kushina, just that she's a bit like her, a "little scary." He's never said anything about Sakura being based on his wife, or anyone else. The most we can say is that Sakura is similar to his wife, because Kushina is similar to his wife and Sakura is similar to her. Transitive property.

I wonder if Kishimoto had already met his wife when he first created Sakura.. He didn't get married until 2003.

possibly, naruto came out in 1999, and if he was in college with her maybe he made the manga when he was out of college and they didn't get married right away? because you have to remember not everyone gets married right away, some people wait a few years xD

There really is no reason to lie about the interview and it does add up with everything here. Kishi is a huge fan of baseball and the whole beating SS with a stick and making Naruto look like the chivalrist white knight in pain adds up alot more now.

Pairing fans have all the reason to make up interviews. Have you heard about that 'interview' where Kishimoto said Sasuke was based on his best friend from high school, whom he admired and loved, and Naruto was based on himself, implying narusasu?
if that interview was real it'd be everywhere. Seriously.

Yeah, that's why I'm wondering. Some people only wait a year or two -- like Oda, who met his wife in 2002 and got married in 2004.

Well the guy who has always been there for her all this while,caring for her is present at the scene and she pathetically confesses her love to Sasuke IN FRONT of him not caring how will feel all the while knowing that Naruto loves her.She also didnt have a word of encouragement for Naruto

What? Behaved? Not as wonderful as Kushina? Don't forget that Kushina didn't think highly of Minato when they first met, which parallels with Naruto and Sakura. And she wasn't confessing a romantic love for Sasuke, she was pleading him to stop going to that path and especially to stop him from trying to kill Naruto, the one that she wants to be Hokage. She said it herself. She can't exchange blows with him because she's not strong enough to stop him. This was her final and only option to stop him.

It wasn't a confession.She was pleading with Sasuke one last time to not go through with what he's doing so they can go back to the way things were. Sasuke assumed she was interested in him romantically but Kakashi corrects him saying "she doesn't want to be yours"

Well than she uses the word "daisuki" which is romantic love and Kakashi also uses a similar Jap term which depicts the strongest form of love and than we have the statement "Her love for you is breaking her heart" and she uses these terms knowing that Naruto loves her

 

How can you love someone romantically and NOT want a relationship with them?

Sakura loves Sasuke but she's not in love with him. Kakashi loves Sasuke (he said this himself) but he's not in love with him, Nagato also said he loved Jiraiya Hiruzen to Orochimaru, Kushina to Naruto, Naruto to Sasuke, Madara to Izuna etc.

Didn't you see the raw (Kishi's own words) or the Viz translation (extremely close to the raw)? That's not what happened at all. She was trying to stop him from killing Naruto and taking over the world, not ask him on a date. If anything this chapter confirmed the end of SS on both sides.

yeah speaking as someone who used to be in love and then fell out of love.....and seeing Sakura's love for Sasuke I can safely say.....I just don't understand.

 

Its not impossible or even really that hard (atleast not as hard as some people here trying to justify Sakura's) I mean I understand her still loving him....up until him telling her to kitten off during her confession, then the murdder attempts in the Sai arc and basically saying they are worth nothing to him despite everything they've been through just to see him again.

No source, which is why alot of people are skeptical about it. Its really just depends if you believe it or not. I believe it, I just wouldn't use it in a debate.

Multiple people here. Its a radio interview so it wouldn't be scripted like a normal one to my knowledge and it wouldn't be found it on the net.

But every characters with romantic feelings suffer from the same thing. Worst case being Obito IMO. Rin was jice to him, but seriously, he did horrible things just because he coudl'nt get over her death.   Second being the Sasuke fanclub, minus Ino, as Sasuke never had the occasion to try to kill her, but I don't doubt he'd have treated her as bad as the rest if given the opportunity.
