I feel like it's a good mixed of both. Like I think she has no doubt that Big Mom will kill her for running away, so she may purposely escape in order to put the blame on her entirely.

This is definitely my favorite arc in part 2 because of how much Luffy and Nami are featured together and how less gigantic the stakes are so far. Punk Hazard had a lot of potential but I feel that characters like Smoker and Tashigi felt wasted and could have given greater depth to Luffy, Nami, and Zoro. Dressrossa was too long with plot points going all over the place and Nami not being being here for like 3 years and none of the chicks introduced could replace the void she left. This current arc reminds me a lot W7 (possibly the best Luna arc an the moment where I really started shipping them) and the struggle they had to face together in a smaller scale. One Piece is at its absolute best when Luffy and Nami lead the story. 

 

Edit: Regarding sawyermage shipping Luna, I find it even more hilarious than one of his argument is that Oda married a Nami cosplayer to reflect his life while he dismisses the argument that Sakura was probably the one because Kishi's wife looked a lot like her...

This is not transitional arc since zou is the one.

I don't think tashigi and smoker is a waste.
Their story there is to confirm that marine or in this case wg is not as innocent as they would think. I think they will allied with sh in end war to fight "corrupt" marine.

I agree this arc has overall been one of the best in One Piece. I particularly like the character interactions between Luffy and Nami, plus Sanji and his family this arc.

 

Also, I've been finding the stuff going on with Brook and Pedro to be pretty interesting. It's about time Brook got to do something.

I think brook is always the comedic relief, he's middle tier.

Oh and in the final battle in this arc, luffy and big mom will eat the whole island.

Luffy will enter gear fifth and become giant.

That sounds like Gear 3 though. Unless 5 could be a remix.

Gear 3 only make him partially giant.
I agree that gear 5 will most likely all gear into one or remix.
Luffy become giant while capable to perform gear 2.

One of the reason why I think luffy will become giant because bigmom hate giant and giant is the epitome of streght among the other races.

Against kaido, he will most likely get awaken Df.

That does make sense. Well, I trust in Oda for creativity. But you know, I feel like Brook will be a great help so Luffy can beat her. So long he's not captured now.

Both of them will most likely nullify bm advantage over her Df and weather manipulation.

With that said, I think is actually really strong even without the Df.
After all, she's an emperor.

I don't know why there's a thought that fight will never happen just because luffy doesn't one shot the subboss.

Remember, this is yonko saga with kaido as the next villain in the next arc.
