Seems to be working its way towards that. There is a threat of SasuSaku, but that sounds more like it's there to make things interesting until Naruto and Sakura get things figured out.

Cute, but Sakura's a bit off. (And I don't think from the little hints we have that Sakura's mom is a nice person- she's a big part of the reason, along with Sakura's father, that Sakura's inner self was created, she had to repress much of herself that was like Naruto because it made her parents punish her.) Sakura already has feelings for Naruto, and is at least aware that they are of the romantic nature.

Her initial reaction is fine, but rather than anger at Naruto, I think embarassment that the feelings that she was just starting to feel comfortable with and accept got a very public display, would fit far better. She's likely a bit nervous too at this passionate drive that is stirring inside, likely giving her dreams with that very type of image Konohamaru put on display. Kakashi's laughter would have deepened that embarassment even more. I definitely could see her fleeing and hiding in her room with tears, like you wrote, but staying away from them out of shame, afraid of mocking from Sai and Kakashi. And discomfort, yes, around Naruto, not because she didn't know she had those feelings, but because she did know, but was a bit afraid that now the image was in both their heads, they'd get too tempted to act on it around each other, and Sakura may still feel a little anxious about how strong her passionate drive is. (A solution to the mother part is have Sakura avoiding them by working till she dropped at the hospital, and sleeping there. Have Tsunade intervene instead. She's definitely a backer of Naruto and Sakura getting together, and she'd understand Sakura's discomfort. Sakura would be more likely to confess to Tsunade what happened too. Konohamaru would likely be getting a lot of unpleasant solo D rank missions for the next month...

Hmm you bring up good points, I may release a revised version later on. Also, Sakura leaving was more out of embarassment than anger, that's why I made her leave when she found the blood on her face. The anger at him later was more just being irrational and selfish in a sense of: "If I didn't care about your stupid ass, I wouldn't be embarassed so thoroughly you jerk." I'm tempted to modify it and add more to make her reasons for leaving a bit clearer.

I think Sakura's parents are a complete blank slate. I wouldn't make much of her complaining about how Naruto has it easy because he doesn't have parents because a lot of kids that age would be thinking more of the discipline that their parents would provide as a bad thing, not as a positive.

Inner Sakura could be a manifestation of a pair of domineering parents or it could be just a result of her being shy at school among classmates and have absolutely nothing to do with her parents. Since Inner Sakura seems to mostly come out around Sasuke (at least when not using fillers), I think it is mostly just because she's trying to be the perfect girl for Sasuke.

Actually, in the manga it came out when Naruto was around most the time, and sparked by his actions. Both the first and last times that happened in the manga are perfect illustrations of that.

As for her parents, I don't think Sakura was exaggerating- one only has to look at her personality at the time Ino befriended her. That's what kind of girl her parents had molded her into- weak, fearful, tearful, desperate for approval and to be liked. She's even more victimized than Hinata was. Hinata faced scorn from her father, but apparently had no difficulties in school, she played "invisable girl" and the other girls left her alone.

Sakura, on the other hand was tormented endlessly by her classmates. Her parents had to know about it, but did they teach her to fight back? Clearly not. It was Ino that taught her that. But somewhere, and we know it wasn't with Ino or at school, someone punished her for not being "the perfect girl". And from Sakura's own words we know it was her parents. Note, none of the other kunoichi have this issue, not even Hinata and considering how her father treated her, you'd think she would. Also note, Sakura's false properness is the most overt when an adult who she puts in a sort of parental role, to whom she thinks she must show she's a proper young woman. (So she's not judged as being the wrong sort of girl).

It is, it's just he/she is trying to make it more realistic. Instead of an all out forgiveness kind of thing, where they confess their love, which happens frequently and ruins a story. I like how she takes it slow making it reach to that point.

I like in a story when they gradually begin to talk to each other either in respect or a beginning of so called love. But really would it be believable if Naruto just up and forgives her, it would kind of kill the story don't you think?

I wish that Wait For Me wasn't a one-shot. It felt more like a prologue than a one-shot to me, but maybe that's just me being disappointed that there weren't more chapters.
