If he really wanted to give development for her he should start showing her having concern about her clan and showing some leadership skills since she's the heir of her clan but no let's just give a moment were she can do something for Naruto this is not a development.
she basically did the same thing on the Pain's arc.

Again, no direction for her with Kishi. That's true about the clan, but I feel like he only thinks about confidence issues, which they are true, but at least remind us about the clan. Goes to show how much fudge he gives about Hyuuga. Sad but oh well.

Yeah, but that's the problem, Kishi got no choice but to repeat it again. That and well now Naruto knows that she's confidence, which shows that she has changed. She couldn't get confidence with him but obviously, that's changed and she's on his level. Mission accomplished. Also, I think I heard that he had to keep K11 around, so he need something to do with them.

Hinata wasn't out of character I believe. Its actually nice that she can be confident when she needs to be, and not a stuttering mess. And I have to say that it *is* development, mostly for her personality. Before she could not speak with Naruto properly and was hesitant, wouldn't look him in the face, etc. In 615 there's no stuttering, she isn't blushing up a storm, she's sure of her words, and looks Naruto in the eye the entire time (added that she has the balls to do all that while holding his face) Its even more than her confession, where she spoke eloquently yet had her back turned.

It isn't "going OOC" but really having an inner strength that comes out in serious situations. I have to give it to Kishi that he did succeed in transforming her nicely outside of what was typical for her shrinking violet character type.

But yeah I'm sure most of Hinata's development will continue to deal with Naruto-- it always has, and that's what I do dislike about it. She's a strong character, but a satellite nevertheless.

Yes, but since it was supposed to be a character moment, Shikamaru is a far better option. If Kishi wanted to develop the K-11, then why didn't he do it with Shikamaru?? there are other ways to fulfill Hinata's development other than 615. 615 felt too OOC for Hinata.

Chapter 615 was Hinata's character closure, it's something that was planned for her to do for the longest time. And given Hinata's connection to Neji I don't understand why you would want any other person to take that role.

What is this about a character moment? It would've just looked plain weird for Shikamaru to take a role that fit Hinata so perfectly. I'm a little confused as to why you would deny how fitting it was for Hinata to do what she did in 615.

I feel like you're just pushing for Shikamaru because you don't like that Hinata can do something for Naruto as well, and in such a fitting way.

True with that. I think what people actually annoyed the most is Naruto being downgraded for that moment. Also, I feel like this could be the last development for her, though I want her to have a development about Hyuuga, then I'll be done with her. Honestly, at this point, Naruto is not changing. It is probably because Shikamaru is a non-threat to NaruSaku unless you think he will run off and marry Naruto. But Shikamaru doesn't gain confidence or strength from Naruto, so it wouldn't have worked, especially given his father just died. He is more Naruto's adviser. Kiba and Choji doing it would have been ever odder. Ino, Tenten, and Shino would have made no sense.

Hinata fit the role given her character. But it was also inevitable it would add fuel to the shipping wars and some people would see it as furthering a relationship rather than development for Hinata.

Shikamaru is able to do things that Naruto is not.
I have any doubts that next chapter will be revealed that Hashirama let Madara live, because does not make sense a guy like him that is able to sense everyone with his power, and even have Mito-Sama who's able to sense evil things cannot see that he faked up his death.
Hashirama didnt kill Madara because he didnt wanted to, and let his escape.

Back to the movie, I'm really excited for it! Until the recent screenshots were released, I didn't realize just how much NaruSaku goodness there would be. My shipper heart is fluttering.

I love that every time Kishimoto is involved in creating something with the anime team, it always has elements of NaruSaku in it. That one OVA, for example. I wasn't expecting anything pairing related in that at all, but it has one of the best animated NaruSaku moments that I've ever seen. Now we're given an entire movie, which not only parallels NaruSaku to MinaKushi, but also centers around them understanding and supporting each other.

This is part of the reason why I believe Kishimoto intends to make NaruSaku endgame. He's not at the point where he can show it in the manga yet, but when he gets to work on a project outside of his series, he can make his intentions loud and clear.

I don't have the link to the information page, but the reason why the OVA was made in the first place was to promote a collaboration on T-Shirt designs that Kishimoto was doing with Studio Pierrot. He designed a T-Shirt specifically for the event and collaborated with Studio Pierrot to create the OVA that went along with their promotion.
