[Konohakitten]

For starters the chapter was great, but there was one thing that got to me, and that was Luffy's reckless behavior. He was kinda of a jerk in this chapter. It's not so much about him not wanting to move, I admire him for that, but I wasn't happy with how he treated Nami, and this isn't a shipping issue. Even though the events that they went through were rough I don't he'd be so cold towards Nami, no matter how pissed he is. I don't see why he didn't give her an order to leave without him and hide, even if she didn't take the offer at least it shows his concern for her. I know Nami is stronger then she lets off, and we have yet to see her bring the smack down in this arc, but she doesn't have the stamina that Luffy does and telling her that he doesn't care if she leaves after she's been fighting for so long was a pretty kitten move. 

 

I do however give Nami Kudos for sticking by her stubborn Captain. She told him he can't win, especially against so many enemies, but even though she knows they'll probably lose she stands her ground with him and fights. Maybe things can change if Zeus and Prometheus come down closer so Nami can take control of them, since it looks like they themselves are homies too. If so that would be pretty sweet. However I'm pretty sure that Luffy and Nami will be taken by the army, which I'm fine with. I personally don't want them to be saved though, just because I want them to make it to the castle instead of running and "hiding"  with someone. If they get captured Nami can try and talk to Big Mom when it comes to Lola. That would be a great bargaining tool as well. 

 

Also Nami should point out that Lola dubbed her a sister. So technically an alliance with the Vinsmokes already exists with the Straw Hats. I mean Big Mom just wants the alliance, I don't think she'd care how it happened. Besides I'd take Sanji with Nami a million times over because I don't trust Pudding, not one bit. At first I thought she was okay, but then my opinion started to change. I'm not so sure about her intentions though, especially when we got a look of Mom's other kids wanting to kill one another.

The only reason you say stuff like that is because you're trying to justify Sanji with Nami and you're making up character traits that you don't know exist.

I don't understand. You know I ship Sanji and Nami with multiple characters, and yet you won't stop thinking it's Sanji x Nami or die with me. Oda already said there is no romance between Straw Hats. That includes Sanji x Nami. Of course the odds of that ship are low, like Luffy x Nami. The only ship I care very deeply for with this anime is Zoro x Tashigi. Now this isn't to say that he won't change his mind and make Nami have 49 kids with Luffy, but it's unlikely they end up together because of the no-romance in the crew aspect.

I don't understand. You know I ship Sanji and Nami with multiple characters, and yet you won't stop thinking it's Sanji x Nami or die with me. Oda already said there is no romance between Straw Hats. That includes Sanji x Nami. Of course the odds of that ship are low, like Luffy x Nami. The only ship I care very deeply for with this anime is Zoro x Tashigi. I see it two way on the kids scene:

You either think that all kids are insane, including Pudding

Or

You can think she's the only that sticks out differently but being similar to Lola, only stuck with the family.

My only problem is what's there to gain from this, especially if the idea is to team up with Big Mom. Knowing about Lola should be enough, so it's no need to do "in your face, Sanji!" If we have to go with Big Mom teaming up with Strawhats, then all we should think is the Vinsmoke Family since they're the problems, taking all sorts of advantage.

Let's not forget, we still have Capone, who clearly have a grand plan in mind, even dealing with Big Mom. I don't know if it has to do with taking out Big Mom or something, but I can imagine him doing something to cause a massive storm.

We have enough problem as it stands, an extra isn't needed, unless there's a massive plot twist that really pays off, rather than "in your face!" That would just be pointless.

I don't think he treated her badly. As you mentioned, he gave her a choice. He wasn't not going to leave no matter what, and he simply told her that. I think the highlight here is that he gave her the choice, and she chose to stay regardless. She wouldn't do that for anyone else, and it really shows how much she's grown in that regard. She may be a chicken, but at the end of the day she'lol stand there and fight (unlike a certain sniper). She's grown a tremendous amount.

From a shipping perspective, her concern for Luffy wrecked me.

As for your point about Pudding, Lola turned out to be nice. You could just as easily say that Pudding is kind because Lola is.

Again, what does any of that have to do with what I said? You were assigning false character traits to Pudding because of a preference to another ship. Or multiple ships, in your words. My point was about pudding, not about your ships.

Pudding being an alley also poses a problem on what happens to her afterwards if she doesn't marry Sanji. I don't know what it is about her, perhaps it's my wariness of "perfect" woman, in the manga and in the real world. We'll just have to wait and see. She may not be "bad" per say, but she can be a closet pervert, or big time possessive. Now that would be a sight to see, a woman Sanji runs from. Whatever Pudding does I don't think it would be solely to blow up in Sanji's face. It seems as everyone has their own plans going on right now Big Mom, Capone, and Germa 66, who's to say Pudding doesn't as well.

I will admit I wasn't in the best of moods when I read the chapter and I'm still not myself, so I'm still irked with Luffy. At least I can admit that I'm looking at this chapter with my womanly feels. I am very proud of Nami though. So I 'll just write my fanfic and put Luffy through hell for a little bit. I'll use the break to get over it

It's like they said, just keep it simple. That's all there to it. Sanji's offering is his last name, so nothing else to gain for someone who isn't the head of the family. I can see the idea of true face reveal if Sanji is happy as it is, but he's not. But I guess anything can happen. It still feel it's too easy if everyone is bad, rather than "I will choose my friends, but you are good too." It's more rewarding.

 

I should point out that it is a possibility that Pudding is that daughter with 3 eyes. Anyone remember that? Even so, no indication of "evil mastermind." If there was, I can jump on that boat easily. But looking back, it's more of a headline to marry someone, which ended up being Sanji. Again, if she is that girl. It's best to wait, but I like the fact we are discussing because it shows how invested we are with this arc.

I don't think it's going that fast. Since the wedding is the next day, I see that this day having a lot of buildup and perhaps more surprises in store. Curse those breaks!

 

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't mean that the manga is being rushed. I just love that we have seen progress in every single chapter. Oda has been on his game and instead of dragging things on he's making sure things stay hot! So that's why I feel it's going fast. Though I do agree that once it's wedding day the pacing will change.

Pudding isn't waifu material. She is too accepting. Waifu material can get you to see the error of your ways. Pudding won't, and that's how I see her character. Sanji needs a woman that takes him by force, not the other way around.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. We haven't even gotten to see Pudding for an extended time yet. With you, it's not about her character, it's about her not being Nami. That's why you are making up character traits when you know next to nothing about Pudding other than she's kind. Sanji doesn't need a woman, he needs to learn how to act.

It's possible they are.

Okay AHK, we disagree on Pudding. It wasn't about Nami. I thought Viola was perfect for Sanji because she accepted him after seeing all his perverted thoughts, and would beat him up if he acted him. Pudding's personality doesn't compare to what a lot of other women in One Piece offer Sanji.

 

More importantly, has anyone read the Volume 83 SBS that just came out? Doflamingo x Viola was a thing. Wtf? I wonder what made Viola fall for him once upon a time. Was she happy with him?
