That's not phoenix state, that was attack, named Phoenix Cry.
Phoenix rebirth is a state, that Shioon went through on the island. Same as Sosul, so he got new body for him. Stronger/faster, power up alltogether.

And now from the look of his face and eyes turning darker in color the Black Origin technique is starting up as well right?

No, he's not in the black origin threshold, he's in the Phoenix Rebirth still. He's just really kittening pissed.
He's in the Phoenix Rebirth state now. On the island, he went through the Hown Gol Tae, which is a body transformation that lightens the bones and rearranges the bone structure. He's been done with that for a while now.That's not phoenix state, that was attack, named Phoenix Cry.

But why do the sclera of his eyes look so weird?
Either it was drawn that way to show his emotion (he was crying pretty badly in that last pic, so they could be red) or it's just a function of the technique. Whenever the Black Origin Threshold was shown, the eyes went completely white. Plus the character faded in and out of consciousness, and didn't have the capacity to identify anyone, friend or foe. Had he been in the BOT, he wouldn't have recognized Chunwoo and called him Goomoonryong.

Yeah but most of the murim people don't even know how the black origin technique is activated, except for chunwoo, shioon and few people from chunwoo's berserk awhile back. So could the people seeing shioon's transformation are only referring it to as pheonix rebirth and not knowing what it actually is?? O_o

The Phoenix Rebirth is a technique apparently, as one of the elders in the helicopter was astounded that "one so young" could use it. If they were talking about the Hwon Gol Tae, he wouldn't have said that, because the transformation is a "miracle", and doesn't have anything to do with age.
