Because Zoro and Tashigi are great together, while Zoro and Robin are trash. TRAAAASSSHHHH!

It's old and all the og One Piece fans already have seen this, but here:

 

D: In chapter 692, there's a scene where Nami and Luffy reunite. You can see a stocky-looking sailor who appears to be carrying Tashigi on his shoulder. That's her, right?! Why is she riding him? She told Zoro, "Let me down when we find my men." Is Zoro really that worried about her health? Heehee. --Someta

 

O: Well spotted. Yes, that is Tashigi, but that wasn't on Zoro's orders. I think Tashigi being embarrassed by Zoro was simply that she didn't want her subordinates to see her being helped by a pirate, but being carried by her own men is different. I suppose she might be embarrassed in a different way, though. I don't really know how young women think.

 

In other translations, he refers to "heart" and "feelings" instead of think, but it doesn't matter. You can get what he's saying no matter what. She is embarrassed with a pirate carrying her in front of her men, but he says he thinks she could be embarrassed for other reasons too, but he doesn't know how young women like Tashigi think. Basically, a ZoTash shipper asked him why he chose to not let Zoro put her down or pass her to one of the marines, why she didn't keep demanding it. He replied by saying he didn't understand her.

 

Maybe she had other reasons besides "you're a pirate, put me down" that she couldn't say. Remember Tashigi is always talking about "I'm a woman just as capable" when she's around Zoro. Obviously she doesn't view Zoro like other men when she is always remembering "I'm a woman" when around him. That kind of defensive mechanism doesn't come from nothing. So "embarrassed in a different way" and "I don't know how young women think" can't mean much other than she is interested in him. Could be because he is really good with a sword, and she wants him to teach her secretly. Could be that she likes being carried by him a little, but will never ever admit it, and she'll never end up with him because Oda doesn't care much for romance. Could be him setting up the possibility for him to pair them two in the end if he wants to in the future, or already has it planned.

 

You don't have to take much from the SBS, but it doesn't mean nothing. Why have the right hand woman to Smoker, who we know will play a major part in the war at the end, have her character always be with Zoro when they show up? Why is Zoro angry at her all the time? She looks just like his old friend his dream is built off of, but unlike her, can't fight him on par. He hates that. Luffy even called Tashigi weak in Punk Hazard. What did Oda say to all this? He said he did it on purpose. He said her name is meant to represent the fact she'll be getting much stronger when nobody expects it. He also said that when fans make fun of someone for their strength, he shows them up by making that character much stronger. That's what he did with Urouge. He proves us wrong every month. That's why I'm already predicting Bonney is crazy strong. Always have been. What happens when Tashigi becomes almost as strong as Zoro? He acknowledges her as his rival. Remember, Shanks made Mihawk his rival, Mihawk made Zoro his. Zoro needs one. Now if Oda decides to take those confussing "young woman" feelings somewhere, then ZoTash wins. But as it stands, Robin is more likely to end up with Franky. That looks too obvious.
