I would have gladly took anyone else as villains besides for freaking Uchihas. If you wanted a powerful clan to be antagonists for Gaiden, what about Hyugas? At least with that clan you could tie in Bolt
Basically this, if Kishi was half of a good writer he would've taken the hint and worked out a more independent plot for Gaiden. maybe something tying to the uzumaki and the village hidden in the whirpool

He is isn't original. If he was we would have got something like that a long time ago. Honestly a lot of the mythology in the manga was never explored. Kishi's is just trying to milk the series with stuff he knows best.Basically this, if Kishi was half of a good writer he would've taken the hint and worked out a more independent plot for Gaiden. maybe something tying to the uzumaki and the village hidden in the whirpool

About Hinata's hair... IMO it was an idea of SP, because at the end of the movie (The Last) Hinata is in the couch knitting with her hair short like that.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kishimoto never drew her with that hair cut until now in Naruto Gaiden.
IMO he FORGOT that Hinata was supposed to have that hair cut. LOL
Because if you look at 700's chapter, Hinata has her hair long. And she has her hair long on the weird family picture too. And also in that retcon of Uzumaki family. She has her hair long too.
So I guess he just forgot, and then he remembered, or someone said it to him. LOL
That is only proving HOW MUCH HE CARE FOR HINATA, and HOW IT WAS HIM THAT DECIDED FOR EVERYTHING ALL ALONG. Ahem...
^^'
You'e probably partially right in Chapter 700, That cover for the akamaru chapter, and the breakfast image she has long hair, and those were all made from what I understand around the time that the last was shown or the ending happened. My guess is sp saw those images and told him that isn't what hinata suppose to look like now and showed him what she look like at the last second in The Last. So to keep them from bugging him about that he change her hair to that for that one image.

Nikia Uzumaki is from the same village that was destroyed long ago and rebuilt after they sent Naruto's mother away to live in Konahna. However, now a new threat arises when a masked man comes to the village to bid for help to aid him in the Ninja war that is brewing. I was going to show some political stuff by having the Ninjas from the smaller villages fight the larger villages in the war arc.
Freedom of speech is no laughing matter, since it does take one person to stand up for the right too speak out.

Yup have a new generation of ninja from the whirlpool village, which is something that a spin off should focus on, since it would not tie into the original but still be in the same setting.

No, please
No masked men anymore
The rest is good though, has potential. It could also be, for example Naruto going to his family's hidden village who finally resurfaced thanks to a few living uzumaki and uncovering some dark secrets about his extended family or something like that

I started a thread back in October before Naruto ended, asking if the popularity of Manga/Anime for a new generation will decline with the end of Naruto, as there are no longer new manga's on the horizon that are universally accepted, allot of new manga's and anime focus on echi and dark themes to appeal to the Otaku market.
There is no new Naruto out there, and no matter what we think about the end, the manga played a big part in the past decade to keep Manga/Anime in the mainstream specially in the west. And there has been nothing new to take it's place. And the worst thing is, the ending itself was so bad, fans like myself are less likely to go out to look for new manga's that might takes it's place.
Now you look at it, and there is nothing new, If this is because SWJ were unwilling to invest in a new idea that didn't rely on sex or/and gory violence to sell, or just the lack of talent out there I don't know. But if they don't find a new IP that can have a mass appeal and attract new blood, I can see the Manga and Anime (specially manga) industry really struggling in a few years and the entire industry could see a large decline like it did with the gaming industry there, or like the gaming industry they could become focused on the local market and the international market will become extremely niche.
We've started seeing a bigger shift with animes adapting more LN's instead of Manga series over the past few years and I see this trend continuing, if you look at the recent popular anime series, with the exception of a few most are based on LN series, as unlike manga series there is allot more variety there, though even that industry has started seeing less originality and more clones recently
LN? What is that?

Because it's complete BS, He said in his earlier interviews how he felt sorry for Hinata so he had to choose her (Sounds like he was pressured into doing this) so he had to decide what to do with Sakura so thought maybe with Sasuke would work.
This is not something that was planned from the beginning, but the execs that had pushed the decision are likely pressuring him and even the VA's to say these things.
I know there is allot of hate geared towards Kishi, from myself included, but I don't think the final decision to end with SS and NH was his, but from pressure of execs from SWJ and SP worried about the gap in revenue that the loss of Naruto would create, and pushed for the pairings in a hope to generate more cash from the foreign markets which is primarily NH and SS, and then cash in on the next gen with the Kids of NH/SS to try to cash in for the fanbase that were let down.
Naruto is the biggest manga/anime export SWJ has, the loss of that revenue stream could have been enough to put pressure on the Mangaka to continue the series one way or another. I think the fact that even Dragonball Z is getting a new series suggests the execs at SWJ are worried about the loss of Naruto and are looking at old popular series to fill that gap...let's face it the likes of Food War are not going to ever be as popular as Naruto or Dragonball
But BnHa does!!! Although, I can understand why they'd do this. The only manga in the current line-up that has the potential to be WSJ's next flagship manga is still but a mere baby. It would take years before it becomes a a mega-hit like OP and Nardo was.

The family that couldn't be.

Know any Japanese speakers who can check what the results are on Japan's Google and Yahoo?WSJ should realize when something tanks in the mother land then it will also tank in the west. I haven't met many who liked the ending of Naruto. I mean you know it's bad, when Naruto is in gogle search engine the first word is to come after is Bad, stupid, or other things.

So do you guys think the hooded man is shisui? This would explain his stitched in eyes and being so upset about Itatchi's death.
Good theory.... Oughtta keep this in mind.

I think it may be him but I really don't want him to be it because not only it's obviously there for shock value, but why on earth would he be alive and why now? Shouldn't he be old like Kakashi wrinkle old? Shouldn't he be dead? Won't this plot hole on how Itachi got MS? Won't any of this make sense? So do you guys think the hooded man is shisui? This would explain his stitched in eyes and being so upset about Itatchi's death.
Bottom line, it may be him but please don't let it be.

I think you're right. There is that thing in Japan... marriage is considered like a "contract", or an "enterprise".
Japanese consider marriage like an enterprise, and the two parties must keep their role to get it to work.
It's a view I respect, because our model is not that perfect either and women's condition in our society is not really that good either.IMO it's not something to be ashamed about to be a housewife.
But what I don't like about it, it's that women are often the ones with the more of pressure in that marriage system.
In Japanese traditional family model, the woman is doing what you said. Keeping the house, preparing lunches... in Japan, women are awake very early to prepare the breakfast and the bentos for the family. Some of them wake up at 4.It's how it works. Women often quit their job when they marry and they're becoming housewives. And the husband is working outside, trying to be strong and get money for the family. This is the traditional model. I guess Kishimoto is living like that with his wife...
Husbands are getting back home very late at night because of the long distances in train. Because of the pressure at work, most of them are having breakdown and they get drunk all the time. Sometime they just can't go back home because they missed the last train, so they go to sleep in those small cabin hostels.
Actually, I was pretty surprised to see girls saying that Hinata is the Hyuga heiress in that Kiba gaiden. I mean really ? We never saw her doing that. I thought she was 'only' and housewife. How could she manage to lead the Hyuga clan while doing all of her housework ? Also, she's not a leader type at all.
It's the same with Sakura. We never saw her in that children's hospital. We just supposed she's doing so. But the image we get from her is 'only' housework. Kishi must be really into that traditional model.
IMO that traditional model was good in the past.
But in our modern societies, there is too much pressure. So it's too much for one man only to work, and it's too much for one woman only to care alone for the house and all the lunches, taking care of the children, and to be alone most of the time.
Naruto seems to be evolving in a modern society now. They have laptops so...it must be hard for everyone, just like for modern japanese that still living with that traditional model.
It's just... Naruto was a manga about ninjas, and Sakura for exemple is not the type to be a housewife at all.
I still think Kishimoto doesn't know anymore how to make Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and Hinata interact.Since chapter 700, not even one of them is interacting with the others. Sasuke is away, alone. Sakura is alone with her daughter. Naruto is at work. We only saw Hinata in Boruto's thoughts.
There is only that Kiba Gaiden, where we saw Naruto and Hinata walking together, but not saying anything to each other.
All that gives me the impression that Kishi doesn't know how to get all this to work. I think he doesn't know what Naruto and Hinata could do together. Naruto walking with her is so weird... Naruto was always with the pink haired one. LOL so... walking together like that with a girl is romantic right ? LOL
That's what we're supposed to understand. But Naruto and Sakura were ALWAYS like that. ALWAYS.
I expected Naruto and sakura to get everything to work TOGETHER. Dealing with the children, dealing with the hospital, and with Hokage things. But Kishi put Shikamaru as a counsellor. I mean, it's a good thing. But I always pictured Naruto asking advice from Sakura. I always pictured some humorous moments between Naruto and Sakura and the children. Everything is so broken... since that time when Kishi just put Naruto beside Hinata at Neji's funeral, everything is so kittening broken.
It's true.
Being a busy housewife is not a problem (Kushina was one after all).
The problem is: this model in Naruto's end is too rigid (Minato helped his wife in the house without any problem) and (ABOVE ALL) the couples don't make sense.
Plus...
I see the Hinata’s panel in chapter 3 and… I have an awful feeling…
Is this the umpteenth occasion for the glorification of Hinata?
I mean, God help us, maybe Bolt is more angry with his father because he believes Naruto has little regard for his own wife?
And, in the end, everything will be okay because it will be clear that his mother has, actually, his father’s respect, love and devotion (contrary to the Sakura’s situation)?
