Like I said in my notes, this part of the movie is solely there to insert fake drama and make it seem like Naruto actually had to struggle in order to gain Hinata's affection.
Who in God's name is going to see this as drama? I'm not a writer proof of that is when I wrote "My Ending" of how Naruto should've ended. But I bet you any money that I can write a better love story and have actually drama between those two and most importantly make it believable to the audience.
To me the movie felt like it was trying to say Naruto would be a terrible person if he didn't return Hinata's feelings, since nearly everything was trying to push them together in this movie. The romance in Naruto is the worst I've ever seen.
That's really it they really listened to all the NH fans that kept saying that Naruto would be an a**hole if he doesn't get with Hinata.
That's really it. Not only that they copied things from the manga, previous movies but they even copied the argument that the fans kept using. No originality whatsoever.

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.
