so this is a post I saw a NH make and get many thumbs up:
In Manga 504 naruto's mother says to naruto that he should not choose a girl who is weird (referring to how naruto always calls hinata weird and strange).
Correction, in the manga 504 Kushina say's that he should try not to pick a weird one, and one who is more like his mother. This is obviously a joke on her part as Kushina herself is far from normal and is considered weird, no one can dispute that fact.
It almost funny that no one can see any similarities between Kushina and Hinata. She indeed said that she wanted Naruto to fall in love with a girl like his mother, and that's when you have to analyze Kushina as a young girl and Kushina as an adult. As a young girl, Kushina was loud and a bit short-tempered just like Sakura, but after Minato rescued her, he gained her respect. That's where the similarities end. This is where the comparison to Hinata comes in. Hinata, much like Kushina, did not hesitate to put her life on the line for Naruto. Kushina and Hinata both wanted to be recognized for their talents, though Hinata wasn't nearly so bold in exclaiming it. And finally in comparison, both Kushina and Hinata are good cooks (as stated by Minato about his wife and Naruto about Hinata during a mission). Sakura has always been a bit verbally abusive to Naruto yet Hinata would never say anything that would belittle him, much like Kushina who would never put down Minato, even when she though he was too soft of a ninja (she just ignored him).
It seems if Kushina want Naruto to fall in love with someone like her, Hinata would be the perfect candidate.
Did you find this on Yahoo Answers? I feel like I've read this before. But I guess it could have been reposted.
Anyways, the person's argument is pretty flimsy. They say themselves that Kushina was like Sakura as a child, but then start listing off really general comparisons between Hinata and Kushina that work for several characters, including Sakura. Sakura has also put her life on the line for Naruto, and she also wanted to be recognized for her talents.
And then the cooking thing. *groan* First off, other than filler, there's no evidence as how well Sakura and Hinata cook. Sakura was shown as a poor cook in a filler scene to basically fill out that stereotypical tsundere trait, and Hinata was only shown to make food that Naruto thought was tasty. I mean, the guy's not a culinary expert, he only eats one dish for the most part. But again, it's filler, so unless they can prove that Kishi was involved with that particular episode, it's a pretty flimsy argument.
Basically, this person's really trying to force a comparison. We do it too, I suppose, but if you step back and look at how Kishi drew Kushina in that arc, it really seems blatantly obvious what his intention was. The only exclusive similarities that Kushina and Hinata share are long hair and having been kidnapped by Kumogakure nin interested in their exotic bloodlines. And the first comparison is pretty flimsy, seeing as how Hinata hasn't always had long hair, and it's never been as long as Kushina's. With Sakura, on the other hand, we have tsundere tendencies, initial dislike for the hero, almost identically drawn mannerisms, and probably several other exclusive common traits I'm forgetting.
I don't mean to be rude to the general Naru/Hina fandom, but they really should just avoid bringing up Kushina's last words. That's really an uphill battle for them.
Also, random question, but when was Kushina shown to be a good cook? I must have missed something when I read that arc, because I don't remember Minato saying anything about her cooking.
Something that just occurred to me for a debate topic. When chapter 559 came out(and actually even now) NH fans were talking about how Hinata and Naruto's relationship was so powerful because Hinata recognized him by looking at his eyes.
So then what does it say when Sakura was able to recognize him right away(like by seeing his face and body)?
Or am I taking things too literally?(I dunno I'm just bringing up a topic for debate since I haven't been posting lately

)
Naruto and Hinata's reunion could have been romantic, but I think it's own of those things where the scene will be perceived differently based on people's personal shipping preference. Basically though, I took it as Hinata finally moving past hero-worshipping, and finally understanding Naruto somewhat. But, that in itself could be seen as either closure or a sign of good things to come for that pairing. I don't think the latter is likely, but I'll acknowledge it as a possibility.
As for Sakura, she definitely noticed Naruto right away, and their initial interaction was much more intimate than Hinata's (looking each other in the face). However, the scene itself didn't last too long, so it's hard to say if the same understanding took place in their reunion.
