Exactly. We're all a bit shocked, and it makes sense that we'd question a lot of the stuff that doesn't make sense. God forbid we ask Kishi to be consistent.

How could Kishi call this a "shocking ending" if apparently the 2/3rds of the world that apparently supported this manga knew NH and SS would be canon? 

Because people on that fandom knows NS is more plausible its just that they have their own preference.
Thats how i am before.. of course i cant speak for everyone. But i always see NS to fit the theme perfectly even if i love SS nh so hard before. I still put into mind that ns actually has a better story.
