Takizawa is a character that seem like he wants a power boost for greater good but instead it's all envy/lust on his end. It's like helping that robot in Portal 2. Once he gain control, he became bad. Takizawa didn't want to die and wants to be on top, so he got those wishes, but of course not care on greater good.

It doesn't come from lack of self esteem, he was proud of the fact that he was smart and stuff, what pissed him off is that he wasn't the best. He was jealous to be jealous, not because he was lacking in self esteem. Also, Kaneki didn't have Anteiku. Sure, they were there for him when he first became a ghoul, but when it really mattered, after he was tortured, he didn't have anyone. Before you say his little gang was there for him, it was shown that even though they were there, they really weren't there, which Hinami noticed and got upset about. She wanted to help him, but couldn't reach him. He was really alone. Not to mention the fact that Kaneki spent most of his life alone it seems, he never had any friends outside of Hide, and then he came to the realization that his mother didn't love him enough to live for him. I doubt that Seido was tortured longer than Kaneki, if he was tortured at all, tbh. After he broke, there would be no need to torture him. But that's beside the point. Kaneki was pretty broken too, at one point, but managed to break free of it.

I can see a developing rivalry between Kaneki and Seido on the part of Seido, especially if it's been made known to him that Kaneki is superior. Consider this: Kaneki developed a partial Kakuja in under 6 months, Seido has had three years and he hasn't gone further. Not to mention, he fought Kaneki while in Kakuja, and still couldn't beat him when Kaneki wasn't in Kakuja. Regular Kaneki > Seido XD

Doesn't mean he was tortured longer though. He might have broken in less time and then worked with Aogiri after. Who knows. Doesn't change the fact that he is just a wannabe Kaneki lol

Seidou lacks confidence in his own physical skills. Yes, he's intelligent, but is inexperienced in combat, which is why we saw him breaking down and sobbing hysterically while writing his testament before the Anteiku Raid. It doesn't help that despite his hard work not only Akira overtrumps him each and every time, but co-workers ranked below him get promoted faster than him (aka Suzuya). But look: His personality is not necessarily likable in the eyes of many fans, which is understandable, but it was by no means a disgusting trait of him, if anything just human and very annoying. Heck, I reread a few pages here and there and have come to find myself slightly unnerved with how he acts sometimes. But he's also brave (or stubborn, take it as you want) to go back and save his friend Amon despite knowing the mortal risks he's taking.

And again: It's all about who is mentally stronger. You've summarized Kaneki's whole life for me before Arima put an end to it. So let me nicely summarize Seidou's life shortly: He led a normal life and grew up happily in a normal family; he basically led a secure life for 21 yrs- until his left arm was ripped of by a ghoul. From then on, his life has been hell nonstop until he broke down. That kind of sudden change would caused anyone trauma who hasn't experienced anything like that before. And after eating your own parents, the length of torture he had to endure becomes irrelevant. There's nothing significant about how long he was tortured until he snapped b/c any normal human being would have broken down anyways sometime down the road. But Kaneki is different. And so is Amon. They were able to recuperate b/c we know their minds are stronger compared to those of average humans. And the rest of the cast had mostly been wounded with some kittened psychological trauma in the past already anyways (Seidou's actually one of the few people he led quite a normal life).

Is there even a point in comparing Kaneki with Seidou physically? We all know that just base Kaneki is physically stronger than him anyways. I've never laid importance with that regards. I don't find enjoyment in Seidou failing in being "Kaneki wannabe".

He really had no right to feel angry/jealous anyway, he wasn't getting overlooked when Juuzo leapfrogged him, it's not like he did anything to deserve a promotion in part one, he didn't do anything at all until the end. It was just sour grapes on his part.

I never said that it was disgusting of him to be jealous, I've always said it was annoying. It honestly made me not care about him. Him going back for Amon actually made me gain a bit of respect for him at the time, he was an annoying character otherwise to me.

Honestly, we still aren't sure if he actually ate his parents, or if that was made up. It makes no sense for imperial scans to be that far off on translations to not even hint at it in their release. Also, it isn't irrelevant, because we don't know the actual circumstance behind him eating his parents, if he did. Aogiri might not have even made him, he might have just met them and done it.

The point in comparing Kaneki and Saido wasn't me drooling over Kaneki for no reason (although I'd be happy to), it was actually well warranted because there's a high chance that the exact train of thought that I followed might come into play later. Seido is a jealous person, he stated as much to Kaneki a couple chapters ago. I highly doubt that this is the only time they'll meet, and it's likely that what I stated will probably become a motivating factor in Seido's part. He'll want to beat Kaneki because he's jealous of him, Kaneki couldn't care less because he doesn't have a superiority complex. Seido failing to be a Kaneki wannabe isn't about enjoyment, it's an established plot driver now.

I think you think I hate Seido more than I actually do. In reality, I don't care about him. He'd be better off dead, tbh. I hate some of the things he's done, but overall, he's just an annoyance that I couldn't be bothered hating anyway.

Lol, it's no wonder Imperial Scans hasn't translated it. On the first look, this just looks like a horrible mess of scribble:

Someone on 2 chan decoded the scribble part though:

And the dialogue before that just further supports it. I'm assuming that either Aogiri Tree forced him, or that he was starving to death and committed the deed b/c he said "I'm sorry! I couldn't help it." And sadly... he found it "tasty."

 

I know that those two will battle again in the future. It's destined to happen with the prime motivation from Seidou's part being jealously and his need for recognition.

I'll admit that it's slightly unnerving sometimes to see hate posts about Seidou. It can get too much for someone like me who feels pity for him. So thanks for clearing up how you truly feel about him

That's all I've got to say about Seidou. Let's just both hope that someone puts an end to his pathetic life- quickly.

She did ? I hope she'll get into Tokyo Ghoul XD And I completely understand her Although, when it comes to :re, I think the most good-looking guy is Ayato, followed by Sasaki.

EDIT: Huh, she's watching the anime first... Hopefully, she jumps to the manga as soon as possible.
