The thing about mythology and different contemporany fiction today is that the author of the fiction can do whatever he wants with the story. Let's take greek mythology, Can't someone today have Zeus not married to Hera or be in good relation with Cronos his father.
Or heck one can do a story where greek gods are represented by characters that don't share the same name but only traits, traits that for someone familiar with greek mythology could identify.
So the only real indication is what is in the story. All those connections are real but the manga shows that SS isn't anywhere in the green and probably not even yellow.
None of those events are really reflected in the manga so one could say that Kishi is just recycling japanese mythology.
Even the Sannin parallel isn't exactly portraited in the manga as is the real stories. There is one version where Orochimaru was a subordinate to Jirayia not a teammate yet in the manga they are teammates.
All I'm saying is that Kishi just took some elements and fitted them in the story but it is his, and has power to do what he wants with the characters.
I would say NS is dead. Kushina's last words would have sealed NS's fate because if anything she would have suggested to Naruto to "not fall for the first girl he met" aka Sakura but fall for Hinata. That's why some of them are trying so hard to win the Minakushi parallel. It's a strong parallel that involves a pairing directly, the other 2 aka team hiruzen and team minato are parallels to team 7.
I wonder.....Well there wasn't much time for Naruto to think about it but I wonder if he ever tried to compare Sakura and Kushina in his mind, to see if the last part of Kushina's advice he followed.
We do this too. It's no harm until one decides what he thinks is cannon and not just a prediction, an idea or a wish for what happens next in the manga.
we do it but we have solid facts to back it up lols .
