it would be a better ending im sure , but a lot of important factors had to be taken care as wellKishi still could have made Naruto Hokage, be married to Sakura, make Hinata clan leader, let Sasuke do something redeeming about him- it wouldn't have been that hard. We all thought after all that up to at least 693 this was still possible, and most of us up to 698. But nope, instead we get this stupid ending.
-cycle of hatred , naruto's answer to it
-sasuke's resolution on his goals
-further explaining of the aftermath of the war
-sasuke's accountability on his mistakes
-detailed explaining of how naruto managed to change the world and naruto 's overall reflection at the end of his journey
in short ,for a properly done ending there would be need of not only 2 chapters, but a lot more.
kishimoto made the mistake of making complications on his story when he added and (badly) explored themes such as peace,war, forgiveness, etc.
A simple ending would make things look half-assed
