Sakura needs much more relevance than she's been getting- and not just concerning Naruto or Sasuke either.

She needs to fight more for one. Healing is nice and helpful, but it doesn't give her much action. In order for people to have a higher opinion of her (because its sort of cool now to insult her constantly) she needs to kick someone's ass. Even if its a minor fight with a minor villain.

Next Sakura needs to get bigger solo panels. It tells the reader that she's an important character and a step up from the other rookies. Recently Kishi has shoved her back with the others and I can't tell her a part from the rest of the alliance. That isn't good.

Yea, you're right.
She needs to do something visually appealing to the audience, or else, nothing will matter...

Damn, every time I remember the potential with Genjutsu and Kakashi's comment on how she can become better than Tsunade I feel so enraged that nothing like that was shown to us.
I know the manga is not yet to end and everything, but if you look at it, so much time has passed and nothing relevant for Sakura that I feel a bit ... dunno... disappointed?
But maybe in the end things will get better, who knows?

Why doesn't anyone criticize Hinata or Tenten for this? Hinata has not had a significant full fight on-screen since her fight with Neji and Tenten has always been useless except for when she helped remove the barrier to Akatsuki's lair back at the beginning of P2 and then later when she used another individual's overpowered weapon to destroy a few of Kakuzu's hearts. In the grand scheme of things both of them are far less active or useful compared to Sakura. And if that's so then why are they not criticized for their ineptitude?

The only problem with the genjutsu is that its so easily countered and that would have meant she couldn't learn genjutsu from tsunade.

I don't have to. Simply browsing this site or even reading the recent post in this thread should give you an insight on why Kishi isn't doing what you said he's doing.

And please, let's not turn this into a debate of defending Kishi's poor writing. I know I may have started it, but I most certainly don't want to finish it. It'll turn ugly.

So you even dont know by yourself. I would like to see only 1 argument from you that supports what you say.
Till now i havent seen one. You only criticize other posts but dont even know how to counter them.

@AzureWaters: You only see sakura in her current arc. But in during the whole story she had enough screentime, enough development and was also very imptortant to the story. Especially including part 1.

Hinata and Tenten are not main characters. They can be relevant during certain scenes, but they are not expected to have the limelight continuously. Sakura is not a minor character; she's the female lead.

And actually Hinata has gotten more panel time in this arc than Sakura has. She needs to step up.

Kishi poor writing comes from two reasons the fact that he always leave things to be explained later and the fact regarding the uchihas.
About love story this is a shounen not shojo, it's not a priority to resolve it, it really takes a lot of time.

even naruto will get development here, and i think sakura too, maybe next chapter on the upcoming ones but it will

I remember reading somewhere that this actually happens a lot, hinata gets screen time in the beginning of the arc, then sakura gets major screen time by the end of the arc, much like during the pain arc, and during the chunin exams, both started with a moment with hinata then ended having a moment with sakura which kinda blew away the hinata moment.

It's not crazy to think something like this will happen again.

What reading his intention Hinata is not even close to his preferences to ino, shikamaru and chouji, he really got fond of those guys and decided to develop them to the fullest, about hinata he just give her a bit of fanservice, appearing but about a real development he did show any intention to do it, so people who hopes that she get over naruto this won't happen.
Naruto is heavily hurt for a reason a guy like him dont get his shoulder dislodged without any reason, Shikaramu is going to come up with a plan and ino will play a role into it along with kakashi, naruto will finish off those guys and sakura will support naruto.

Just ignore him he does not accept any argument and thinks that he's right all the time, i already give up because he does not have any arguments and even when i counter it he simply forget everything and start with another claim.
I just dont like those type of attitude for what a remember a long time ago i got warned by the mods of this forum for those type of attitude i'm very surprised that anyone showed up here to at least make a warning because he's flaming all the time ( softly but it is).
I dont like it, saying everyone is wrong based on his thoughts without even explaining or doing a claim.

Many of the people who criticize Sakura don't even think of her as a main character. That's one of the primary reasons why I'm questioning their favoritism.

Hinata's highlights in this war was her conversation with Naruto's clone which lasted for a segment of a chapter, her #573 declaration, and the panels of her showing up and standing behind Naruto. Compare that to the events of "a bloody night" which lasted for two chapters, her own personal declaration in #573, her panels in #611, and the two in this most recent chapter and there's a greater amount of focus on her than Hinata.

I know that. But now, especially because the manga is ending, Sakura should be getting more attention. Its been a few years since Kage Arc, where she did have relevance, but that was a fumble and made everyone dislike her more. Plus it was mostly pairing related. That's good for NS I guess, but just being a love interest and not much else isn't good character development.

Dont you think he's already busy closing the development of his side characters? like the guys i pointed out, there's no enough screen time for it.
We already have enough interruptions on naruto's battle.
Sakura had a lot of chapters centered on her, a lot of people got more screentime than her, and hinata she showed a little and even on this newest chapter we didnt even see hinata here ,thanks god.
Let's just wait until next week.

Like I said before the herione title is up in the air. There's really no telling who the herione in this series is anymore. You have Hinata & Ino recently outshining Sakura by saving the world during their arrival. And like Atheck said, she was standing behind Naruto at the end of a chapter. Is Hinata's new placement behind Naruto Kishi's way of showing us that Hinata has the herione status? Did Kishi finally give in to her loud fanbase? Looks like it.
