About all of this /\ ....

 

1. It is acceptable to like and post about SS or NH here.  Users should know this, and not badger others about holding different opinions.

 

2. However, it is preferred to place photos or art behind a spoiler tag -- especially if it is potentially agitating.  That accomplishes two things:

 

(a) it shows consideration for others;

(b) it prevents the same image from being splashed all over the thread when it is quoted repeatedly.  

 

3. The SS art was technically relevant because it was based on images from the new movie -- which is more than can be said about some of the other content posted on this thread.

 

The bottom line is, most of this stuff is just common sense.  All pairings and opinions are welcome, but a lot of people here are sensitive to some pairing content.  So put it behind a cut, okay?  That way no rules are broken but it's not necessarily in everyone's face.

Posting about SS and NH over and over and over again talking about switching sides or how great those pairings are are not within reason of this thread. Especially knowing full well that people are doing it for mere mockery of the other fandoms. So in the chapter threads and debates threads the member get warned for bringing in outside arguments or outsides SS and NH websites/fan art etc. to purposely point out that of the other fandoms, but here it is okay? To me, that is a double standard. So as long as I am sarcastic about SS and NH, it is okay to constantly bash the other fandoms for their ridiculous views?

Common sense here dictates that people are not doing that here because they are okay with SS or NH, but rather doing it for laughs and or mockery. Keep in mind this thread was locked for people saying their views on Hinata and the admins closed it for being off topic. Again, double standards much? I'm sorry, but no. I do not agree with this and it is by far a hypocritical thing to close this thread or warn people about doing stuff that criticizes Hinata in this movie, but if it is about SS it is okay? No, I'm sorry, you either ban all of it or you ban none of it.

I know sarcasm is hard to tell on this forum, but come on how many here are actually being honest about those opinion that you say is well within the jurisdiction? You're basically saying as long as we are sarcastic about it, it is okay.

James, please keep in mind that I was specifically addressing the angry complaints made because someone posted SS art based on the movie.  The reason that art was shared did not appear to me to be mockery or just to bash the SS fandom, but to comment that the art was good and the two characters looked well together.

 

It was okay to post that art, but it was NOT okay for people to take that user to task over it just because they don't like anything to do with SS.  However, for the sake of compromise I suggested that it could be posted, but that it should be placed behind a spoiler tag so people who don't want to look at it are not forced to do so.

 

But now that we're on the subject....

 

As for your remarks about how the use of sarcasm has been skating by as supposedly hilarious and fair commentary instead of the veiled bashing it really is, I agree.  It's really not okay. But it was not the issue I was attempting to address with my post.

 

Like I said before, knowing how to behave and what to post on this board ought to be common sense.  If one is old enough to become a member here, one should be able to comprehend and follow the simple rules.  And yet it seems to create serious difficulty for some users.

 

Let me restate the Rules of Conduct cliff notes: do not bash other pairings, other fandoms, or other users.  That includes bringing in outside material and the use of sarcasm to pretend you're not bashing when you really are.  Be considerate of others.  Use spoiler tags for images.  Do not carry on insider conversations on public threads; that's why PMs exist.  Do not post off-topic; that's why other threads and blogs exist.  Avoid using profanity.  Avoid one-word and gif-only responses.
