While this was a horror movie, I couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
First Sunday 5/10
While this is a good movie with moral values, it should had been done more comidical scenes, especially more with of Kat Williams because I felt his role wasn't expanded and Tracy Morgan is an idiot in this movie...

can't go wrong with Tom Hanks. i especially enjoyed the bittersweet ending. although, there are a couple of plot holes that led to mile confusion...

Another documentary but this time it was on one of the most iconic men in boxing. The entire thing was from his own words as he went through his early childhood to his current stand and it just let's the troubled man give a compelling confessional about his life. I have to start by saying the multiple split screen was a very nice usage of filming as it gave many different views which you can coincidentally relate to the same of Mike Tyson's life. There are those who see the former heavy weight champion who was a ruthless beast with aggressiveness and tenure of a wild animal that lead to his downfall. There are those who see a troubled individual who grew up with many problems that effected him mentally and he could never escape his demons. This documentary allows you the best chance of finding out for yourself from Tyson himself.
It tells a different story; his own story. Not those of the media who paint him in many different lights and what you hear/read from other sources but with this Mike Tyson figuratively sits down for an hour and twenty six minutes and just speaks to you. You see all sides of him from his steel-like demeanor to a torn down version where you'd never think such a tough man could break down. If you watch boxing or have followed boxing this documentary just engrosses you as this complex man is broken down and exposes every bit of himself to you. His triumphs, his fears, his ambitions, his rise, his downfall, and his eventual current life are all shown in it and gives you all there is to know about the man that can be provided in front of you.
You see Tyson as a man who's fallen from glory and some characterize him to the point of an evil person. However, with this documentary you get to see the REAL Tyson and realize that he has never lost his humanity--only been troubled by it. Like all of us he has made errors in his life that he admits great regret towards. You are even able to sympathize with the man as you hear his counts of having a harsh childhood, dealing with a famous career, spending time in jail, and the mistakes he made throughout his life. What is he? An animal? A troubled soul? Not even he himself knows the answer to this but trying to figure yourself out is the hardest qualm in life that we always continue to battle till the very end and he is no different.
In this documentary Mike Tyson is so soft spoken and calm you see a completely different person from his past. He's grown up and matured quite a lot from his younger days. He's a complex man with many varying degrees to his character that have been etched onto him with the journey of his life. The documentary is objective, thoughtful, intriguing, and most of all--reflective. A man of such stature who's been through all facets of life and has experience so much can teach us a thing about ourselves. It teaches us about being smart in the decisions we make and doing the righteous things by working hard and never giving up. By not letting certain things (love, money, fame, etc;) get a control of our identity and being True to ourselves by finding meaning in something that is close to our hearts. Only then are we able to live our lives the best as we face both the good and bad and look towards the future.
You can't contest the fact that Mike Tyson was one of boxing legendary fighters and rose to great success. Being the Heavy Weight World champion he had all the glory and the world within his palms. But with his glory also came tragedy as his mind, heart, and soul always had to deal with troubling issues throughout. He fought many battles and hardships not only inside the ring, not only in the outside world, but he continuously to this day fights with himself in an infinite struggle with countless rounds and no knockouts. You want to know the real Mike Tyson? Watch this documentary.

10/10
Now, beyond watching the animated series when I was 7-9 as a kid, I didn't know much about everything GI Joe was about. Beyond the 'Knowledge is power' thing anyway... Since I knew pretty much nothing about it, I couldn't get annoyed with little plot changes from what actually happend. Like when I watched the Dragon Ball movie(I kinda liked that tbh, but I noticed EVERYTHING wrong with it, but I get that they gotta change it).
Regardless of that though.. The movie was great, full of energy, comedy, action, fights and all around fun. There was never a dull moment and i'd pay to watch it again.
Plus, Snake Eyes is one hardcore dude! I walked away with new action heroes in him, Duke and Storm Shadow.

While this was a horror movie, I couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
It's because those people were probably already infected and they didn't want to risk that.
Quarantine 8/10
I thought it was tense, but I'm a sucker for Zombie films anyway, and Doug Jones is always a horrifying-looking creature.
9 7/10
Great designs and a very good sign that Shane Ackerman is going to be someone to look out for once he gets some more features under his belt. While I enjoyed the film, I feel like the film ultimately suffers from any film taken from a short length and stretched out. It was choppy and not very economic with it's plot. The voice acting, while decent, wasn't completely wowing, with a few of the players being replaceable or interchangeable with any other voice actor, namely Jennifer Connelly as 7. But most of that falls upon the writers. She's barely on screen and when she is, she doesn't say much, and her re-appearance is the same action every time. A situation happens and she appears to save everyone in some bad-@ss fashion, but we're never really given more than that-- which is one of the other problems, character developement. Overall it's enjoyable with the designs being it's strongest point.
JVCD 9/10
This was a great surprise. I had heard good things but the first few minutes didn't really showcase anything special. It's the core of the film itself, being a pseudo-biography about it's main character Jean-Claude Van-Damm. The conventions in the film are a very nice touch to this rather raw look at this former glorious action star. And its his performance and ultimately his message that sends this film flying right out of the ball park for me. I highly recommend it.
Big Man Japan 6/10
This film was a great disappointment, if only because of what I feel is like a slap in the face to the audience within the last 10 minutes. The rest of the film is golden comedy. The premise of the film is there's a family of super heroes, where every generation a representative must become this giant, fat, sumo person to fight off giant monsters. The protagonist of the movie is what makes the film a delight at first. He's a normal guy, who's barely making ends meat off of the money the government pays to live, he's got family problems up the wazoo, and there's a new creature who beats the snot out of him. The creature fights are hilarious as well as their design, and it's within the last 10 minutes when it feels like the director just didn't want to work on the film anymore and ended it in a completely different style. I would understand a different style as a means to a message of some sort, but it says nothing. It actually stops the story and character development to do nothing. Don't watch it, just cause it'll dash your hopes.

Yet another Tyler Perry movie which I've grown to enjoy. It shares no similarites to the playwrite, but like his other films, I favored this one. With an exceptional cast consisting of Mary J. Blige, Gladys Knight, Taraji P. Henson, Adam Rodriguez (CSI: Miami ftw~~) and Tyler Perry, himself, each actors plays their role in expressing the whole story behind the title. Not only was the singing remarkable (what's would expect with that cast?) but the situations besides everything happening to the 'main couplings' kept me interested as well. And Madea and Joe? Loooovved them. XD

No matter how dark it is, you’re not alone you know?

I could go into great detail to explain why I love this movie and why it continues to make me think, but instead I'll just pass and say it was pretty sweet. The ending was a little disappointing for me, but the overall morbid/depressingness of the movie (and the action scenes) made it worth seeing.

Okay, this movie was great. The special effects are mind bogglingly good, especially for the small amount of money that went into it (Around 30 Million, I believe.). As well, the story is quite interesting, even if it's a little heavy handed on the racist overtones. It loses some points from me because of the sheer asshattery of Wikus through most of the movie, but his ending sequences more than redeem him in my eyes. Oh, and I want that mechsuit.

This movie is what will happen whenever we tried to have a Godzilla-like monster attacking a city, especially New York... Chaos, madness and "you better RUN for your goddamn life!"

Despite the fact that I shut my eyes during the beginning, this was an awesome movie to watch (and I was watching it for my class today). Came out around 1979, even though its long, I can see why it won 3 Oscars for cinematography. Focused during the Vietnam War in the late 60s, its one crazy movie that will amaze and shock you at the same time.

Crank: 9/10
I didn't give it a high number just because my favorite actor, Jason Statham is on it... I gave it because it was so damn funny it was ridiculous, especially...
Jumper: 8/10
Why am I not surprised Hayden and Samuel both starred in the movie since they were on the Star Wars series? Anyways, I found this movie very interesting and that power to jump like teleportation is very cool, but it should be use for good so you won't get caught.
