So I just watched The Last. Finished it in one sitting. I figured might as well get it over with. I don't really have anything to add other than yeah...It's bad...Like really bad. If you haven't seen it, just know that everything you've read is true and more. 

 

This movie is pretty much all about Hinata. Naruto is pretty much a satellite character whose entire existence revolves around her. 

 

Pretty much every member of the "main cast" are OOC. That includes both Naruto, Sakura, Hinata as well as Sai and Shikamaru, who have now inexplicably become NH supporters. 

 

NH cheerleader Sakura was cringeworthy as hell.

 

Speaking of cringeworthy, watching Naruto sulk because Hinata dumped him was the absolute low point of the movie.

 

Despite this and despite SP's best efforts to make Naruto and Sakura seem distant, the "parting" scene and the bird rescue scene showed more chemistry than pretty much all of Naruto and Hinata's interactions throughout the entire movie. 

 

The "parting" scene was still extremely cringeworthy though. Rivalry, off screen confession, a young girls feelings can't change yadda yadda yadda. 

 

Convenient filler memories.

 

The chakra cannon is kittening stupid.

 

Kakashi is barely in the movie and he barely does anything.

 

Sasuke's screentime can literally be counted in seconds!

 

The technology makes no sense.

 

The movie has a weird obsession with balls. Toneri's attacks, his puppets attacks, That weird thing that Toneri sticks in Hinata's chest to control her. The movie is even about the moon (a giant ball) crashing into earth. Everything in this movie is balls (in more ways than one).

 

The art is inconsistent. Toneri's castle looks more like something from a Final Fantasy game and the winter segments in Konoha gives of a shoujo drama vibe (which was probably the intention).

 

Tony is such a lame villain. It's obvious that he is merely a plot device for beinging Naruto and Hinata together. 

 

And in the end, he is of course TNJ'd, because why the kitten not. L.A.M.E. 

 

The scarf theme is forced. 

 

Naruto's scarf speech is forced. 

 

Hinata just keeps knitting.

 

The relationship between Naruto and Hinata is forced and borrows shamelessly from both NS and SN. 

 

Hinata is supposed to be this super mega awesome powerful heroine and yet in some scenes she can barely take care of herself. Naruto even points this out with the spider web scene. 

 

Also, in order for Hinata to become a heroine, she apparently has to become Sakura 2.0

 

Hanabi, the cutesy little sister. Yeah, how about no. 

 

Naruto throwing away his mothers scarf and replacing it with Hinata's is so disrespectful and I wouldn't be surprised if this ties into the whole "NS parting ways" theme. 

 

Also, fake drama in the form of Kushina's scarf as well as Hinata "willingly" going with Toneri.

 

The movie completely undermines NS and SN (but we already knew that from the spoilers).

 

The ending scene with Naruto and Hinata running through the moons was so goddamn cheesy and pretty much everything I had hoped the romance in Naruto would not be. It also makes it seem as if Naruto and Hinata shares this deep bond that goes way back, but the most significant moment, the one that "sealed the deal", has never been seen or mentioned before and makes no goddamn sense in terms of what would be taught at a ninja academy. 

 

Oh yeah and before I forget, the genjutsu scene made no sense whatsoever. 

 

...And neither did the Kage Bunshin scene.

 

Sakura's smile during was wedding was forced as hell.  

 

If you completely ignore the manga, then this isn't a bad movie. Sadly this is not the case and in that regard the movie fails completely. The animation is nice and the intro is cool, but that's about it. The jump cutting is weird and it's just all style and no substance. Well I hope it was worth it SP. You got to make your little movie about your favorite waifu. Kishi says that this movie was SP's idea and I believe him. This is just like those part one fillers that completely worships Hinata and tries to make it seem like Hinata is the real heroine. This movie has SP written all over it.

 

...And really, this is supposed to be the last Naruto movie? What a kittening joke. Yeah, Hinata finally got her prince at the cost of pretty much everything else that was ever good about this series.

 

As for the volume 72 leak....kittening lol. Here they have a chance to improve the ending and they kitten it up by adding a page of Naruto and Sasuke holding hands as well as a bunch of bullsh** fan service pictures. This is so pathetic. This, coupled with the ending, The Last as well as the constant BS we've been fed over the last 3 months is really more than enough reason for me to put Naruto behind me forever.

I don't have any opinion on it because he's barely in the movie. At most, he's a hutch man. He doesn't do anything drastic for a guy who's at charge. All in all, it was disappointing and only point out the reason to happen is for either Naruto to be Hokage at 7 (classic...), fan service to say Kakashi is the man, or both.

i see.. so it's true that sasuke and kakashi are scenery, lol.

 

i initially liked the kakage idea because naruto is too dumb like hashirama, and he has little to no experience as compared to hashirama.. naruto in the pain arc did mature.. but he still never found the answer, even at the end of the series naruto merely repeat minato's words to boruto, "ninjas need to endure" (it's a lame pun because the kanji of ninja means exactly that..  )

 

but to see kakashi become kage because of obito's wishes.. a dead, selfish, uchiha mass murderer.. that doesn't sit well with me at all.

I did get new followers after the liveblog. It's amazing that these people somehow found my work and till this day continue to reblog and like. So yeah, I guess the latest volume release has pissed the fans, hoping for something new. Nope.
